Aarufast, yep I did have help, neighbor brought his big tractor up with a bucket to bail me out! I couldn't keep up with it on atv. I'll be buying a snowblower soon, all this shoveling has me wore out! I usually don't mind the snow, but I think the east coast would agree this is way too much.
fortunately,  this only happens to us every few years but as I get older im trying to justify the cost of a good slow blower to use once every few years  unless somehow I can convince the Mrs. to let me buy a skid loader ,maybe I could make a few extra $$$$ doing drive ways and such

I obviously do not know what size of snow blower you are using but around me in Ontario there are always people selling used snow blowers. These engines are used only a few times a year and generally run for millennia. I bought a used snow blower for 50 Dollars because it had a flat tire. It's a 2 stage 10 horse unit with a 26 inch blower. An inner tube for the tire was 12 dollars.

People are way to quick to ditch small engines that start to run bad. My dad got a free snow blower because it needed a new carburetor. One trip to amazon and 36 dollars later he has a fully functional snow blower. His is a massive 32 inch unit and other then oil changes it has been chugging along for years.

I got my lawnmower for free since it had a snapped pull cord, 8 dollars at Home Depot and it's back and running. the Unit is only 5 years old.

So what I am saying here is check online if they are "broken" it's usually because people are morons.

Just this year I pulled a ~30 year old snow blower out of my aunts barn, rebuilt the carb and gave it to a friend who just bought a new house. The carb rebuild kit was ~8 dollars, a 4 dollar spark plug, some fuel line, oil and a can of paint. A new snow blower of this size and power would have been an easy 1200 dollars.

At the Farm we have a PTO mounted unit that came with our 54 or 64 Massey Ferguson 135 and it's a champ and I'm sure on the re-sale market it's worth peanuts too.

If it's a 135 it would be a '64.

Sweet thanks! its the tractor that just won't die. It came with the farm sat unused for 17 years and two years ago we got it running again and it has not let us down since! I suspect the hydraulics are getting a bit weak as it struggles to lift the three point hitch if the front bucket is in the full up position.

Good thing it's just a hobby farm so it's not our lively hood. The famer next door gets a great laugh watching us "City slickers" make all sorts of mistakes. He's good about it and rescues us with his tractor when we are stuck up to the axles in mud. Many beers have been had while he laughs at us lol.

Check the hydraulic fluid level. If it's low then when your bucket is all the way up there might not be enough fluid left to operate the 3ph. If I remember right there is a dipstick on the left side of the rear end housing below the seat. Could be wrong, it's been a lot of years.

I will for sure remember this next time I am out that way.

Thanks!

Not good for me, I could use a foot or two of snow. I'm all out of work at the moment.  :-\
