Looking out my office window as I write this and I can barely see across the street as the snow is coming down so heavy.  Can't even make out the street from the property line.  (no snow plow yet) and we have to go to a wedding reception tonight.  Think I might just hook up my Alaskan Malamute to a sleigh for the trip!

Brad, that is a brilliant idea, small engine repair on site. No one does this where I live. It would be huge here.

Ya just me and Sears around here. People don't like the waiting and the bill Sears charges!  :grinno:
Problem is when you have a winter like we have had with no snow.... ya just about starve to death!

but I see you have a craftsman decal in your window!
I like sears myself. Own a lot of craftsman tools. Too bad they probably wont be around much longer. They were a great company that dominated first the catalog and then the retail business (after ww2) but guess they havent been able to compete in the 21st century. Their marketing scheme just isnt that popular anymore.

I try to use Sears as often as possible.  Mostly just because they are a locally owned business.
I do prefer to purchase American products and support those in my own community.

With so much chinese crap out there, it gets hard to wade through all of that junk.

I usually recommend Sears or Murray. You gotta watch all manufacturers are using ( on some models , usually lower price points ) a chinese engine. easily identified by a steel gas tank...that and no one claims to making the engine. Biggest beef I have with them is that there are NO service/replacement parts available..... need a $5 part? scrap the machine! :villagers:   Nice huh?  DON'T BUY ONE!

ya I have a Craftsman decal on my service van just to let customers know I service them too.

:iagree: I like Sears too but it is sad that they may not be around much longer.  They have huge stores in malls that take up a lot of retail space and most of the kids now a days have their little trends going, buying clothes from specialty shops.  No hard evidence but I think most people buying clothes there are older folks.

I do like Craftsman tool though.  Always fun browsing there.  Easy to return broken hand tools.  I always buy Diehard batteries.  I should look into other brands as it's a hike to get to a Sears auto center and places like Autozone are much closer.

When I went to auto mechanic school my first set of tools were Snap On.  Boy, try returning a lifetime warranty screwdriver to a Snap On dealer that you didn't buy it from.  Still have the Snap On flat head screwdriver I broke like 20 years ago.  No one would trade it in for me unless you were a regular customer of the guy.  :walkaway:
