Where to buy TransGo?
« on: December 08, 2001 - 03:59:28 PM »
Does anyone know where to buy TransGo performance kits?  I'm looking for the TF-2 for my 727.  Its supposed to have the "anti-drainback" feature for the torque convertor.

Crap!  I see that Summit sells Trangso kits but they are only for GM & Ford.  They don't sell the TF-2 kits.  I saw threads on Moparchat where they were raving about them:

I'd give Summit a call and ask. It's my understanding they carry a loy of Mopar stuff that's not in the catalog. Typical situation for us underdogs!

I've had my Trans-Go Stage II shift kit for over 10 yrs. now, and it still performs flawlessly!!!!!!!!!  ;D

And that is 1/4 mile thrashing as well as cruising to local shows and also highway driving!  :D

Ugh.. I'm not too "up" on transmissions and was wondering..

I have a stock 727 hooked to a close-to-stock 440 in my cuda. My 727 is not working well, my dad said the clutches were bad and needed to be rebuilt.

I want to switch it to a manual valve body AND rebuild it. Also, I'd like to switch to a more aggressive torque converter. This car is driven alot.

What parts do I need? Does the Trans-Go (listed under summit as Chrysler: 1966-98 TFOD/518 Torqueflite/Loadflite transmissions, performance shift kit) a "rebuild" kit, or do I need a separate overhaul package? What all do I need to convert to manual valve body?

Thanks!

You will need a rebuild kit as well the shift kits are just for modifying the valve body for the most part. Some shift kits will make the valve body manual
