I am duplicating your wheel/tire combo because it looks perfect IMO but going with polished version vice the black.  I need to know what lug nuts you used (especially for the rears with the spacers and 3" studs).

Thank you, I do not recall the exact lug nuts. But they were just a standard closed end chrome acorn. They seemed to work fine with the longer studs.

Do you ever have any problems with the rear lugs loosening? I bought a Wrangler with one-inch spacers years back and they were always loosening on me. I finally sold the wheels to get some that I didn't like, but which had backspacing that let me toss the adapters.

Nope, never had any trouble on the Barracuda. Also I've logged over 50,000 miles on my Wrangler with 1.5" wheel spacers and haven't had an issue there either.

FYI   I have had a little sidewall rub on the lip in the rear.   But only when I hit a g-out dip in the road at speed and really compress the suspension.   

 I plan to change the rear out axle one day and modify the housing length to accomodate/eliminate the spacers.  This will hold me over till the cash is available...

I'm confused.... is this combo 17" on all four or 17" front, 18" rear? And can you give the tire sizes again to clarify?

"Front - 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing
Rear - 18x9 with 5.9" backspacing

Notes - The rear 18s are running 3/4" wheel spacers to keep the tire off the spring. The axle has 3" studs to allow for proper lug engagement with the thick aluminum wheel and spacers. Also, that particular wheel has a different size hub for the 17 and 18. The 18" wheel will NOT fit on the front without modifying the hub on the car, or the wheel. I stumbled upon this when I got the 18s first and I wanted to just try them on the front.

Tires - Nitto 555
Front - 255/45/17
Rear - 295/45/18"

Thanks guys.... I'm just trying to decide if I want 17" front and 18" rear or 18" all the way around... or 17" all the way around.  Only reason I'm interested in switching rims is better tire availability.

The rear 18s got me the tire I wanted, but the American Racing hubs wouldn't fit on the front..which was another problem. 17/18 hasn't caused me any headache.

I would advise anyone duplicating this combo to use a different brand of tires. The load rating of these front nitto 555's is 92. This is a very low load rating. I belive the original equipment rating would be 97-98 (that would be a big block car). There are lots of other brands in that size that are rated at 98. Other than that, it is an awsome looking combo for sure.

Brad, what did you end up doing, did you go 17 or 18's???
Mike, do you think it "might" be possible to squeeze the rear rims out to 9 1/2 or even 10" on a 295??? or would that cause to much rubbing, Nice combo's guys
