Trying to find my old 71 Cuda (PLease Help)
« on: January 15, 2011 - 09:27:06 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to find my old 1971 Cuda 340 4 speed. The picture below was taken in the fall of 1988 in Georgia. When I owned it, the car was still Gold Leaf Metallic(original color) and was an original shaker car. At the time, it had a 6 pack set up, but was otherwise all stock. The car was originally sold new at Kelly Chrysler Plymouth in Marietta, Georgia. I spoke to an owner back in the early 1990s and the car was somewhere in Michigan.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and my email address is:
landerswe@yahoo.com
Please feel free to contact me with any details and any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Will Landers

Man, if that were my car I would want it back too!  Hope you find it!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Just poking around the internet and saw this pic, different color shaker though, not sure of the engine size but the license plate says "6-PAC"...  :dunno:

Here's a link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/35953802@N03/3586031443  The pic descriptions suggestes that it was in MA, so more likely than not, not your car...

Thanks for posting the pic, brings back some memories.
Can't be too many gold 71 cudas out there, but you never know.

Will,

If you do find it, you will likely need to be prepared to pay a kings ransom for it given the price of 71 Cuda's these days.

Best of luck in your search.

My 71 383 Cuda was orginally gold and I hated the color...I had it painted Hemi Orange back in 1989. Still looks brand new to this day.

A guy I know here in Massachusetts just sold one a couple of months ago. It went to a guy in Washington DC. It was a real Shaker 340 car in Gold Leaf metallic. I will ask him if he has the vin# still.
