Price of cuda's on the rise??
« on: November 26, 2004 - 11:34:49 PM »
Here are 2 cudas that have hit the 2 hundred thousand mark and going?  How could any average person ever afford one of these desireable muscle cars?   I personally think that the whole situation is way out of control!!  First a hemi convert. hits the million dollar mark and everyone freaks!!   Then 2 million??  Then hemi convert clones hit 100 thousand??  Where will it go next??   :dontknow:

ever heard of supply and demand, there were only 652 hemi cuda's in 70 and 29 verts (how many are left?)  they made 318 cars  :worship: for the real enthusiast                (how much does it cost to build a hemi vert clone, I know a few here are or have built one and I bet they have near 100 into them especially when you count there time.

OK Lets say that you do have an orignal HEMI cuda!!  Any color you want!!       How much do you think the insurance company will insure it for??  I assume as much as you choose.  How much would insurance cost for a 2 Million dollar policy???  Or even a $100,000 policy??  Anyone in Insurance??    :dontknow:

can you insure it as a house , there cheaper to insure and generally have higher amounts insured.

22 years old male, not married, clean record, 2 million in coverage on a 4spd hemi convertible      Holly Ship I cant afford that.
There is a American Family Insurance at the Office I work at ill have to ask Shirly what my rate would be on a hemi vert  :ack:

The prices for the 71 hemicudas is crazy....and the 70's have been on the rise as well.  Verts / hartops / vert clones / hardtop clones / starting with 71 then 70 in that order.  I recall just over a year ago of a 71 TX9 hemicuda hardtop trading hands for somewhere in the mid 300K range....that has know jumped to 600 -700 range...some for over a million.

How much higher can this go...only time will tell.

Would it be worth it to clone a '72-'74 and put a HEMI in it?

It might not sell that well on E-bag but it would be fun to drive :patriot:

Watched American Musclecar on friday, guy being interviewed said he bought the Chevelle cuz the Hemi Cuda which he really wanted then was way too high for insurance then. He was quoted 1200 back in 70. It was most likely the primary decision people walked away on the purchase. Not to mention the competition had great horsepower for 1000-1500 cheaper. So blame it on the insurance companies why Hemi Cuda's are out the roof on cost!!

No takers yet though at that minimum $41k price. :iagree:

I've thought about a hemi conversion for my 74 Cuda, but the price of $14k for a crate engine would drain my pocketbook

That's a nice example but I mean with the total conversion with a '70 grill, tail panel ect

Should be a nice one to watch though

This is a pic of a Hemi Cuda vert clone that was at Ohlone college last June. A really sweet car that took my breath away!
