Installing FAST EFI: Coolant Temp sensor: 1/4" vs 3/8 "?
« on: January 22, 2011 - 06:06:12 PM »
Im installing a FAST EZ EFI on my 1968 dated 440:

1.  The FAST has a 3/8" (with 1/2" adapter if needed) coolant temp sensor

2.  My 440 has I beleive a 1/4" temp sensor:

Where or how do I mount the EFI 3/8" size coolant temp sensor?

Can you drill and tap a new hole next to the current temp gauge sensor?
Can you run it off the heater hose as close to the water pump as possible with a tee fitting?
can you run a t fitting on the upper radiator hose?

by a t fitting i mean a hose adapter connector that has a 3/8 or 1/2 inch hole in it.

My water pump has a second larger hole in the top on the passenger side with a plug in it.  I'm running two sensors in my pump without drilling any new holes.

You're going to love that syatem.  Two friends of mine installed them in their cars this summer.  A huge improvement in starting, throttle response, HP and MPG.
