4 speed shifter boot and trim ring mounting
« on: January 23, 2011 - 04:34:43 PM »
How does the 4 speed shifter boot and trim ring mount to the center hump on a 70 Cuda?  I currently have an auto trans. that Im fixing to replace with a 4 speed.  Currently have a Hurst Pro Matic 2 shifter.  Wondering if Im gonna have any issues with installing the 4 speed boot and trim ring not knowing how they install.  I do not plan on having the center console.  Does the boot and trim ring just screw directly into the center tunnel hump?    Also, if anyone can post a pic of their Cuda 4 speed without the console I'd appreciate it.

ok, thanks.  4 speed hump is already there, car was originally a manual from the factory....some doofus somewhere along the line put an auto in.   Not knowing yet what was done to put the auto floor shifter in I was just wondering if whatever was done  might possibly interfere with putting the manual boot and trim ring in.

Are there nut plates or do the screws just screw directly into the hump?

4 screws through the boot, 4 screws through the trim ring.
