Just a heads up for those with a 1 piece solid valley pan.
I had a tick in my valve train and while chasing it down, noticed (for the second time) the lifters on passenger side were bleed down.  This was after running the engine and letting it sit just long enough to cool down.  I do not think they should have bleed off that quickly.  So I decided I would change them out, no big deal, right? 
Engine in car (440), headers, etc.  Removed carb, intake....what the heck?  How do I get in there? :clueless:  I have to remove the heads? :pullinghair:  Indy heads with the 1 piece valley cover.
Probably should have removed a motor mount to remove headers.  Since I did not, I had to jack the car up to get the headers sticking straight up.  Pulled the pass head first, removed valley plate, and replaced lifters and was able to get to the drivers side too.  That was a relief to not have to pull both heads.  Cleaned up head gasket area and reinstalled, re-torqued, put everything back in and changed oil.  Just waiting for a fuel pressure regulator (pressure was at 9 psi) to start it up and go have fun.

Yeah, I like the vally plate covers that have the bolt down piece in the center that allows you to still get to the lifter vally without pulling the heads...

That is what I am running. It works great. Only issue on the Hemi is trying to get the head stud/nuts torqued down through that tiny hole. It takes me about 3-4 hours to get all 8 of them on and tight....   :pullinghair:   :banghead:

The 2 piece valley plate is definitely in the plans for a future purchase.

Finally able to get the car started yesterday and break in/or seat the new lifters.  Too late to go for a spin, but it sounds like I have some kind of a whistle sometimes??  So hard to hear in that engine compartment, but there was a faint sound every once in a while.  I wonder if it the intake or carb gasket?  I hope it is simple.

I have Indy heads with the one piece cover and the inspection plate for getting at the lifters. How old is yours? Hope you had Cometic gaskets or replaced the original gasket with a new one.

There is a true 2 piece plate available as well , it will entirely remove without pulling a head , I got one from Mancini

I bought my kit about 2 years ago now. 
I did replace my head gasket with a new one, then changed my oil once all together.
I will soon be ordering the 2 piece for the future.  Thanks
