Rear valence cut-outs
« on: January 28, 2011 - 05:26:47 PM »
Okay, so now i decided i dont like the funky looking bumper gaurds on the rear bumper. Anyone else fill in these slots in the rear valence? They dont serve any other purpose do they?

I'm at the same point. Keep in mind if you do this you'll need to modify your bumper where the guards bolt on if you don't want to see the holes. On leaf spring cars I believe this created room for the spring hangers on Cudas?

I plan on filling mine since I won't be running leaf springs and I want a smooth bumper.

They can be removed on a Challenger only while running leaf springs.  I plan to do one of my cars that way also.  Here is Bobby Alloways Challenger.  He left them off on it.

Everytime I try to post the pics I get an error message that I already posted.  :dunno:
If you do an internet search using the words Alloway Challenger you will be able to see pics of the car without the bumper guards.

I am a little confused still. Is it okay for me to fill in with the standard leaf springs that i have or will it be a problem?   :clueless:

You can get the springs off without the slots. Challenger above is mine. Notice I also welded the vallence onto the quarters. Saved alot of time in trying to get the repop vallence to fit.
