1970 Challenger SE Registry....
« on: January 29, 2011 - 06:55:03 PM »

I don't know if this has been done before on the forum but here goes.  I have noticed several 70 Se Challengers popping up lately and am thinking it would be good to have a thread devoted to the SE.  So  I will start and hope this is in the right place and everyone likes the future postings.    Mine was originally Burnt Orange and  the color is the only change I made.  It doesn't have the orig engine but it is a 440.  Just not sure what year.   I didn't get a fender tag or build sheet but I did get the orig Vin off the door when it was replaced. 1970 Challenger R/T S/E... Vin  JS29U0E1095XX.

Although the return of my R/T SE is on hold for the time being, here is a before shot circa 1996. Living in the Detroit area until the end of 1993 did bad things to the original sheetmetal but she'll be back.

Heres mine.....its a JS29N0B - with no options beside the R/T and SE.....meaning NO power steering, NO power brakes, an OPEN rear end, 3-speed manual, and a single standard mirror.

First up is my SE, its a RT/SE clone(not by me) thats a FK5(my dream RT/SE color) and matchingnumbers 383-727-8.3/4. Sadly it got a crappy paintjob some years ago that is worthless, im glad thou thats its not a bondo bucket like my Sublime RT/SE. Right know im in a struggle if i should keep or sell :clueless: it is still a FK5 SE....JH29LOB1....

My Sublime RT/SE has a no matching great +500hp 440 Magnum with a TCI Streetfighter 727 but the rear is a worthless 8-3/4"(probably the only one matching) so you cant put the pedal to the metal without going in the wrong direction right away. Its a 2 fenderplate car with lugagerack and powerwindows but is sadly a real bondobucket from Detroit that all i have done on it is serious metalwork, brakes and electrical just to get it roadworthy and throu inspection. Restore close to orginal or keep it hotrod is something to think about(even thou i have done that for a few years)

My Rallyred RT/SE is just a rolling shell with allot parts missing, this one is claimed to be a real 4speed RT/SE. But since the fendertag is totally rotten and i got no buildsheet(havent pulled the dash yet thou) bodynumbers match and the floor where the tranny sits look stock. So if anyone have info on this RT/SE it would be super great.
