No. We were going to put a 340 in it but we found a rebuilt 440 that was too cheap to pass up

I would 2, go for that rebuilt 440. But good luck making a TA-SE, never seen anybody do it

My low end challenger 318 convertible came with the SE package and I think it really adds to the look of the car.  I know a couple of vert owners who over the years have added the trim because it really highlights the cars shape.  I'm surprised on one with a vert has a picture to show.  As for mine it has been in the shop for the last couple of years so I can't take a picture.

I've heard of 2 of them. I only have one in my registry which I'm assuming is yours (902 SPD). There's supposedly one in Canada. Is this one yours?

Here is a picture of my 70 RTSE V code Challenger I have owned for the past 25 years.  Original colour burnt orange in and out.  Trunk floor and drivers floor replaced some time in the mid eighties and repainted.  Otherwise she is unrestored.  Unfortunately not the original engine.

Yup that one is mine , so how did my car end up in your registry when I have owned the car since 80 & have never shared the fender tag with anyone ?  :clueless:
What do you know about the second one ?

Are you saying the pic is your car, the 902 SPD is your car, or both? The pic is from Flickr. At one time the car I have in my registry (your car?) was in the SIAC registry.

Speculation is that the FC7/V9T cars were probably not intended to be ordered in that combo. Either someone misread poor handwriting of 'Y' as 'T', or a typo since they are together on a keyboard. Most likely the former. But that is just speculation.

I don't have much info on the other car. Just stuff people have told me. I have no numbers, so I do not list it in my registry. I'd have to look through my files and I don't have that kind of free time.

If I ever get time to go through all my documentation and I come across the emails I got about the other car I'll let you know. Is your car finished now? I'd love to see pics of it.

yes it is done , there is one small picture in my 29 years late..r thread , the best pix would have been on flicker , I forgot about posting them there !
Body wise it is 98% restored to the way it was delivered the only external change is dual racing mirrors , it was delivered with a single non remote mirror , do you have any idea how many months I was undecided about cutting the remote joy stick hole in my original driver door panel LOL
Drive train is all non numbers matching , the block was 3 ' from the car when I bought the car but the seller would not sell or trade anything for the original block , you should have heard him on the phone 28 years later when I called & asked where it was as he is totally aware how badly I needed it . He was also blown away that I still owned the car but I told him when I bought it that it would never be for sale again as long as I was alive . Anyway a non number block is still a non numbers block so I did not stamp my numbers into a date coded block or even look for a date coded block , even a date coded block is the wrong block so I built  what I would have ordered , it now has a 440+6 4spd & Dana the 440 has been stroked to 512 CI though & the trans is the OD version but I still have the normal 4 spd & the Dana has a 3.54 track lock . I do have the 83/4 housing as well but in 84 I replaced the original housing as it was damaged , the gears & axles are the originals but the housing is long gone .
Interior is all back to original except I do not have the radio delete plate & I do have a rim blow I swap on & off .

A lot of people add the second mirror. Just think of it as a safety feature. Seriously all cars should have had them. My white car only has the single standard mirror, not even a sport one. My pink car has dual painted mirrors.

I might know someone with a radio blockoff plate. They'd probably want a premium price for it though.

this is a 70 SE I just picked up the other day..
JH29G
Originally mine was 318 2v / auto / Burnt Tan ext / Tan Leather buckets / AC
white stripes and vinyl top..

When I got it as you see it now, it was Yellow...and not finished.
I put on a set of ralleys and dropped the front end a little...
Ill be working on it alot this next week or so.
Motor runs well, mildly rebuilt 318 and last owner swapped in a 4 spd.

Well second mirror today is obvious all cars have them , even the cheapest Dihatsu etc .
But even back then the SE with the smaller back window the right mirror should have been a Must have IMO it has never made sense to me that it was not just part of the SE pkg ! Maybe the one mistake I made was going to painted dual mirrors , thinking back on it the SE with all of the chrome trim would probably have had chrome mirrors too .
