    Wheeler Dealers is a great show, it's the only car repair show I know of where they aren't just trying to sell you products or doing mostly fabrication work.  Their "profits" are a bit skewed by the fact that Edd's time is apparently free as his his workshop full of tools...but good none the less

    So...  I primed and painted the grille over the past few days and it was looking great... (pictures later) then I hit it with a matte clear and it looks like hell...   :clueless:

    I'm going to try lightly wet sanding it tomorrow (another first for me) to see if it fixes the finish...  man I hope it does or I'm going to be sick...   :puke:

    Well it's done... finally!    :bananasmi

    I wet sanded the clear to remove what I could of the whitish glaze it coved my nice paint with.  It worked out okay


    clear coat glaze during a test fit of the bumper...





    I've been wet sanding the right side of this grille...



    Hard to tell in the bright sun but it is darker...


    I made one mistake and sanded down to where you could see the orange from the "ring" (?)... crap...      :faint:
    I didn't sand with much pressure at all so it must have been pretty thin here...   lesson learned...



    I masked it off and painted it...



    All gone!     :clapping:





    Well, the bumper is now pulled in!  I had not put padding on the end of the bumper and marked up the "paint" during a test fit... another lesson learned...    :misbehaving:

    FYI - there is still a gap, but much less of one...


    Not too bad...    :woohoo:







    I'm glad this one is over...  I learned a ton and put a lot of effort into this.   The results look good even up close!  ;)

    Turned out great! I for one hate to paint stuff I can do it but , it is a process or series of processes that if they get screwed up at a certain stage there is almost no fixing it but to start over. Temp , cleanliness, chemicals reacting to one another.. :pullinghair:

    You did a great job,want some more grilles to finish?I just finished all the structure repair work on this blue cuda grille and need to finish it as it will be going to a swap meet along with the rest of them this coming weekend.

    you are right...  and I may find sooner than latter that I didn't do something correctly and it all starts to look like hell...  hopefully I'll get some life out of this repair.

    Definitely the best spoiler out there I think for the 'Cuda.  I really liked the MAS one, but they went out of business.  I bet this one is probably better quality.

    Not so sure for the Challenger.  Kinda cool.
