Good auto darkening helmet?

I'm about to buy a mig welder and want a good quality auto helmet. What brands should I look for? I want one with a large window. Thanks.

I use a Jackson. It`s cheap, It has been abused many times but still going strong, now for 8 years. I use more expensive ones at work , like Speedglass and Optrel. More comfortable and better vision, but not worth the triple price, unless you wear it all day.

I agree with Bart. My Jackson has the large viewing area,it's cheap and the batteries seem to last forever. It's my only hood and I use it at work and home.  Also it has 3 settings for welding (adjustable), grinding and torch.    http://www.jacksonsafety.com/linkdetails.cfm?groupid=3014755

Where can you buy a W50 BOSS* 3-N-1 Variable Auto-Darkening Filter helmet? I like the size of the viewing area bifocals you know. It would make it easier to see what I am doing. What is the price of one?

I bought mine around a year ago at my local welders supply for around $250.

I have a SpeedGlas that I bought online for about $140.  Tried a cheaper one from Harbor Freight and took it back the next day. 

Don't skimp on your eyes!

I consider that cheap for any helmet. esp. a speedglas.  I`ve tried several "cheap" ones... under $140, and the biggest problem I had with these helmets, was double vision when welding. I don`t see them doing damage to your eyes with a little welding on cars, although I wouldn`t use them when doing some "real" welding.

Cheap, yes, but I think I bought it at least 5 years ago. Looks like it is about $220 now from www.weldingsupply.com

I bought a Speedglas last year for $219.99. Good helmet, much better than the Prostar solar it replaced.

You can start laughing but I got mine at Harbor Freight.         I used the 20% off coupon. For a cheap one it works fantastic. I'm sure you would want a much better one if you weld a lot but for me it's great.
