Stock width Rear end and stock location springs what offset do i need for 295 ti

My challenger is untubbed and i want to fit at least a 295 35 18 tire what offset would i need for a 10 inch wide wheel if i want to have it centered in the opening. The rear end is stock width.

I have 9" rims with 275's.  I'll probably go 295 next time, but the 275 was $100 less per tire.

My rims have 6" backspacing.  You'll definitely need to move the spring perches inward 1" per side

do some searching as there are several long threads about this. I recall that it is possible to fit that without relocating springs, although due to factory tolerances etc, every car is a little different.
I have 17x9.5" rears with 275 rubber. I used the tire calculator to put this together (my rears are the 3rd tire over):


New tire on the bottom (still about 3/4" to spring). Just measure from the mounting face to the leaf spring and add at least 1/2" safety factor and you should be good to go.

So did you relocate your springs?  Do you have a pic of the body side clearance.

Can't image a 9.5" rim will fit without sticking out (without relocating the springs).

I have 17x9.5 TTII's with 275's with a 6 err-something bs and I had to use a Dr. Diff relo kit.

275/40R18's on 9.5's with 5.9" of backspacing. I moved mine in .75" on each side. If you find a set with 5" of backspacing you'd be fine on a 275, but I don't know on a 295.

6" of backspace will hit the springs. I have 4.5" backspace, and you can see the clearance in my picture above, with no relocating.
Keep the bs to about 4.5 to 4.75 and it will clear, though it might rub on the fender lip then with a 10" wheel. At least it will be close. My 9.5" wheel with 275 rubber clears my unrolled lips with about an inch to spare.
Check some of the other threads. Theirs at least one guy claiming to fit 315's back there without relocating! Probably have to get the bs and measurements perfect to do it, with no room for error though. No wiggle room!
Although, with all the wrenching that has been done to some cars, some people may think their car is "original", but may have been modified in the past.

i had some foose wheels i tried on with 275 tires and it had over an inch each way.

These are the rim measurements from XV motorsports....he said to double check though. does this size sound right?

Front 9.5" rim with 61/4 backspace with 275 30 18 tires

Rear 10" rim 5 3/4 backspace with 295 30 18 in the rear

Anyone on here running this set up?

why wouldnt it? everyone with 8 inch wide wheel uses 4.5 backspace anyless on 8 inch and it rubs the fenders. so if i go an inch and a half wider rim that would be 4.5+1.5 So thats 6" i was giving it an lil extra just to be on the safe side.

Thats the rim size peter at xv motorsports runs on his E body. Im just wondering why you dont think it would work. maybe im overlooking something.

I havent confirmed it but that does seem a little much for the front, esp the backspacing.
Plus a 9.5" wheel and 275 rubber up front is really pushing it it seems to me. Not to say it isnt possible, but I would triple measure that sucker to confirm it will fit YOUR car, not someone elses. Fronts are trickier.

I'm no expert on this, but everything I have read says that combo is too much. I believe board member Mike Tyler tried something similar to this, but abandoned it. He did get 275's on a 17" rim on the front, but I cannot remember beyond that. There is a thread somewhere, give him a search.

I have 285/40/R18 on my car (18x10 w/ 5.25 bs), but it has dr diff offset hangers and a B-body rear end. A 295 will easily fit with offset hangers, I went with 285s because Nitto didnt have a 555 series tire in the correct height. I dont *think* 295s will fit (at least on my car) without the offset hangers. The tire thread is a really good place for information BUT like mentioned before, these cars have a lot of tolerance issues...so double check everything with your own measurements.

i had two rims i just used for mock up. on my dads car 15x10 two inch narrowed rear end 4.5 backspace clears a 13.5x28.5 tire with plenty of clearance it has offset hangers.

My challenger i have stock rear end and tried a 15x8 in the rear with 4.5 BS and it had about 2.25" between the rim and leaf spring so i was going to go 10in wide figured split one inch each way that would equal 5.5 but xv came up with a 5.75 i know im splitting hairs im just trying to get the biggest set up in there
