1970 Challenger
« on: February 07, 2011 - 01:48:32 AM »
Hello everyone,

I bought a '70 Challenger R/T in 2005. I have been working on it on and off since then. I bought the car disassembled with some work already done to it. It had the cheap half quater panels. I did not like the idea of a weld the length of the quarter, so I replaced them with the full quarters from goodmark. The hood and right fender needed a little more work than I wanted to deal with, so I replaced them with aftermarket also. I am finished with all of the body work and am very close to painting. I am really excited to finally start reassembling. I am looking forward to learning new things and getting advice from this forum. I am sure that I will have plenty of questions.

  Hello Andrew and welcome to the site.  What are your plans for the color scheme?  Do you have an engine and trans picked out?  Keep us updated on your progress.

Hello again,  Thanks for everyone's comments!  For the color scheme I am planning on Hemi Orange with a black vinyl top, londitudinal stripes, and the black out hood treatment.  As for the engine and trans, I want to build a mild 440 with aluminum heads.  I have been thinking about a passon hemi overdrive, the 4 speed that you can already buy.  If anyone is using this trans I would love to hear how you like it.  I hope to get all the body parts, and the underside of the car trimmed in within the next week.  I will post some more pics soon.
