No power to my dash
« on: February 09, 2011 - 03:44:12 PM »
Hello All! I can start my car with no issues. The only problem is that I am not getting any power to my ralley cluster. None of the gauges work. I am wondering if I am missing a ground or something. I have new fuses in the fuse block.

Is this a new problem? Have you ever taken the gauges out? There is a voltage limiter back there for the gas, temp, and oil pressure gauges. Maybe it died?   :dunno:  The tach and clock commonly go to heaven, so they might need rebuilt. What I'm getting at, there is no single power source for all the gauges. You do have the gauges installed don't you? If tested outside the car, people tend to forget the case is grounded thru the dash frame.

There is a common jumper (-ve) for the fuel, oil, and temp gauges. As MEK said, perhaps the 5vdc for the gauges is missing. Did you attach the 12vdc connection to the limiter?

I forgot to tell everyone that I just installed the dash and hooked the car up to a battery last week. I'll look for the jumper. Thanks for the advice.
