Cost to install two new rear quarter panels?

Just as it reads, anyone know?  Trunk is good, wheel tubs look good..need to replace the piece at the bottom of the rear window too.  Anyone have any idea an estimate of what a good shop would charge or anyone with experience on what it cost them?  thanks in advance.

In the "good" old days they used to pay approx. 14-16hrs per 1/4 and I'd guess about 4 for the upper body (dutchman) panel with the rear glass out for the 1/4's, flat rate. If it needs 1/4's, you can nearly bet it'll need trunk extensions, too. Figure $500 ea for AMD 1/4's and You'll have to look up the upper panel and extensions. Use your local rates- around here it runs $56-60/hr and none of this includes materials like bonding kits/seam sealers/rustproofing, etc. That'll give you a ball park, retail idea. Save your pennies!

Carefull.  Many of us start out thinking that we just need this much work done.

There are many possible additional costs involved once you hand the car over to someone.

I had quotes of $7-50,000 for the same work, from reputable shops.

I finally realized, that I just needed a guy who is a bodyman and a mopar hobbiest, who wanted to help me on the project.

 His quote was $1800, and has grown to nearly $3,000 due to all the extras along the way.  The extras were truly necessary, to make me happy.  Paint will be extra, if I choose to have him do it. 

The original work was to take about 7 full working days, since I already had the work started.  It has been 9 months now, and we have gotten very deep into rust issues, I didn't expect to see.

Well i know my husband charges $40 a hour and it takes time to make sure everything is right a good solid week of work to install rear 1/4's and you never know what is going to come up so be prepared and always have 20-30% more cash saved then estimate incase of troubles.

yeah, i figured estimates would be all over the place..and I know the car is almost always in worse shape than it appears.  Im probably gonna have to bite the bullet while I have some "car" money, cuz if I dont, Ill use it on something else.  It looks ok now, and there are many go fast things i can get, but I would feel sooooo much better just knowing the rust is halted.

With the rear quarters and dutchman needing work, have you looked closely at the rest of the car...subframes, doors, trunk lid, etc.  What started on my challenger as 'rear qtrs' turned into much more...just as others have said on this post.

I know the car needs more than just rear quarters, but I cant do a full on resto all at once, and I want to drive it and work on it little by little.  The floor boards and frame are in fine shape.  The fenders and engine compartment also look fine.  The door bottoms have some rust.  The dutchman has one small spot, and the quarters around the wheel wells.  Again, I cant do it all at once and I know rust is like an iceberg....far more than what you see on the surface..

Be prepared to change outer wheelhouses and trunk floor drop-offs if there is rust around wheel wells .That is if you want to get rid og rust for sure. On average straight forward job it should take 50-60 hours to properly replace both quarters,outer wheelshouses,trunk drop-offs and dutchman panel,given there are no surprizes
