R/T Fender Emblems
« on: February 13, 2011 - 11:57:54 AM »
I have an all original 440 six pack challenger R/T (with bumblebee tail stripe) that did not have the R/T emblems on the fenders.  Most cars I see have the emblems on the fenders located below the challenger script.  The fenders on my car are orignal and there are no holes that would accept the emblems (unless they were adhesive backed).  Additionally, there were no signs on the car indicating there ever were any of the R/T emblems installed on the fenders of the car.

Does anyone know if this was an option for the fenders?  As far as I can tell, there were only two of these on this car - the trunk deck, and the front grill.

As far as I know any 1970 Challenger R/Ts with stripe delete or bumble bee stripe got the R/T emblem on the front fenders and were pin on type the trunk lid was the only adhesive backed R/T emblem. But never say never when it comes to Mopar.

One more thing interesting about this car is that the Chrysler Pentastar emblem is only on the passenger side fender.  There is not one on the driver side.

Yeah- the pentastar was only on the passenger side.  The R/T's that were stripe-delete had the pin-type fender emblem.  As already posted, if it had a stripe, there was no metal emblem.
