Just a thank you note
« on: February 13, 2011 - 09:32:09 PM »
I would like to say THANK YOU to the members who have helped me over the last few months.  I did need the chat, donations, and encouragement that some here gave me.  Some here know that I am disabled now, and trying to get back on my feet again. It has been a very tough road to recovery for me. 8 months without pay from my job bit me too.  Some of you members sent me donations when I really needed it bad. I used the money for funeral costs on my dad. He had passed away in my home on Dec 28th 2010. The day my oldest brother was born, he is gone now to.  My wife had Broncial phneumonia and a sinus infection, I had a cage installed in my spine, and we were feeding my dad morphine with our fingers till he passed.

It has been a very emotional time here for me and my family.  Usually I am on all the time, but lately , I just just pop in and go.  I am still having trouble with my legs and back, and I can muster up about 4 hrs of working on projects every 3 days or so. Then on heavy meds in between

A special thanks to everyone that sent me cards, gifts, and donations, when I least expected it.  Also a special thanks to a couple of members waiting on me to pay them for a few things they sent.  I have 1 more payment left on my dad and I will start to have a little money again. I lost 5/6 ths of my income in November, so we have learned to adjust as we could.

Than you everyone

  ALAN and PEGGY

thanks everyone. Im kinda out of it today. I tried to do a little something.  I'd give anything to feel good again.  I know it takes time.  I just have so many things I need/want to do.  It is exceptionally hard to sit on your hands

It is far easier to sit on your hands than it is to sit on your head.  ;)

It really bugged me when I was laid up with a broken back in 2003, three months of no lifting. It is not easy Al, but you can do it.

It really bugged me when I was laid up with a broken back in 2003,

Wow I think that was the year I broke mine in 3 places. A big crane fell over and crushed me at work. Lucky to still be sucking oxygen really? I couldn't walk for over a month ...it also ripped an artery off my lower intestine, it took me almost a year before I could walk without pain. It took me a couple of years before I was "normal" again ( no wise cracks Barry!  :icon16:)
I'll just say I wasn't the "ideal" patient at the hospital.... they took my clothes to keep me from leaving! :o
I had had enough of the place ( too many sick people in hospital ya know!...that and they smell like death to me!) and it took me 4 hours of excruciating pain just to get to the edge of the bed, "borrow" some old guys walker and was heading for the door at 2AM when the nurse caught me bare a$$ hanging out through the retarded gown they gave me dragging the morphine IV behind me!  :grinyes:
Funny both her and I  weren't to happy about it either? :clueless:

Keep your chin up Alan! ( and Jackie ) this too shall pass! Just give it time!
