OOPS!!! I totally forgot about the license plate!  It's not a state issued plate.  I wiped out my real plate numbers to post a pic on another group years ago.  Somebody called me on it and I created that little gem as a joke for them.  Sorry I'll fix it back later.

As for the car, when I bought it in the early ninetys, I didn't get much information on it.  As time went on word spread about the 72 convertibles used in the TV show MOD SQUAD and MEDICAL CENTER.  For a time I thought mine might be one of them even though the fender tag was missing along with most of the original nose.  As I did more research I learned the TV cars were VINed 71's while mine is a 72.  The body stampings match all around.  Then I was lucky enough to score a 70 convertible that was literally rotted in half.  I was able to get all my missing trim and a spare top out of the deal.  While parting that car I noticed several differences with mine.  On a real convertible, the tops of the rear wheel houses are cut down and a cap is welded on that effectively makes them shorter.  Mine does not have them.  Mine also has no torque boxes front or rear.  Unfortunately at that time the guy who I was renting garage space from didn't pay his bills and got foreclosed on.  I had to put the car in dead storage and had nowhere to put the parts car so it got junked with the torque boxes and all.

I don't try to represent the car as something it isn't.  Instead I've embraced its oddity and decided to push it further.  I got a T/A hood and spoilers since I prefer the look.  I scored a set of Special Edition door inserts.  I have a Rallye cluster that someone removed the clock and put a digital clock in it's place.  I have a set of "General Lee" vectors that I like the look of that will be going back on.  As for the engine I found a Direct Connection Six Pack intake by Weiand that will make the 440 stand out while still fitting under the hood.  The seats were redone prior to my ownership.  They are black vinyl with diamond patterns stitched in by a local old school upholstery guy.  The front end was redone a few years ago with PST components.  I put in heavy duty Hemi springs in the rear and even heavier duty torsion bars up front when I put the 440 in.  It still sags in the back like a lot of convertibles do so I put air shocks in as a stop gap for now.  I have a set of super stock springs that will hopefully level her out this year.

This year with any luck I'll have the new 440 finished and will install it with the Keisler 5 speed I purchased years ago.  Paint will probably be pushed off until it's 40th birthday in 2012.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

I vote you keep your name as it is and stick around. You are entitled to freedom of speech.

 :iagree:

I agree I can't believe this is even brought to anyone's attention, its a mopar guys play on probably the most common daily expression.  If it was Jesus H Christ maybe, but its not and there there are 242,918 people in the united states with the first name Jesus...  :poopoke:

You'd have to be an idiot to not know it's a play on the name "Jesus Christ" as in Jesus H Chr.....". To each his own. Christians are tired of turning the other cheek while the rest of the world walks on top of us. We can't even call a muslim extremist that straps a bomb to his body and walks into an airport a terrorist. This is the United States of America a country founded on Christian priciples. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200 to one. So are you surprised that the slang play on the name of Jesus Christ would offend someone? The silent majority has been silent too long. You don't have to believe in God or get baptised. That is your right and I will honor your right.

We have cheapend human life to the point that we value animals more than human life, We love things and use people instead of the other way around, we've taken God out of the schools and even the mention of his name can be grounds for a lawsuit, our media has polluted the minds of our youth and even gotten sports heroes to promote their agendas, we have taken the ten commandments from public places & told we cannot pray publicly or proclaim Christian priciples, yet we provide public prayer places for muslims. Our apathy is leading us to perdition. Are we still truly One nation Under God?? Do we want God or not? We've kicked him out of our country and then when disaster strikes we wonder where he was??

When I say I am a Christian, I'm not shouting I'm perfect, but I'm wispering I am lost, but now I am forgiven. I don't speak with pride, but confess that I stumble. I have failed and need God to clean my mess. I feel the sting of pain and have my share of heartaches. I am not holier than thou or speak with pride. I'm just a man like you. I think anyone that truly lives Christianity as a way of life would take offense to "Jesus H Chr...." as a play on the name "Jesus Christ" and not so simple minded to think it is something else.  It is what it is & as a Christian I am offended.

God bless us one and all. Especially those who denounce him. God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our service men and women who are protecting our right to pray and worship God.

Welcome Jesus H.  Nice car.  Love the name.  Hope you can live up to it as there are many questions asked on this site.

Matt, I feel much the same as you, in fact I was offended at first too, but then noticed the message on the plates on his car, so I simply placed him in a category reserved for people that I don't even think about.

People so often try to get a rise out of someone for some unknown reason, and figure that offending a group they are not part of is some clever thing to do.  The FCUK logo on shirts was a "cool" thing to wear in the school I taught in.  The kids kept coming up with pretty pathetic excuses for wearing it, and really they were just insecure and trying to get attention.  They couldn't even explain what they were trying to state by wearing the logo!

I think that it gives these offensive things a lot more power if we react to them.  The way you handle it is the best - state how you feel and what you believe and move on.  God will take care of the rest!

Sorry, call me naive but when I saw the name I assumed it was a name of hispanic nature.

Yeah, it's a free country but as a Christian I do feel a little offended, just my thoughts.  :2cents:  As far as a common daily expression, it probably is but so are other words that I wouldn't go around saying.

Matt, I can appreciate you words.  Amen to that brother.

:iagree: Well said , At first I did bother to look at this post because of the name. I gotta admit I too am somewhat offended, but not to the point that I won't talk to you or welcome ya! Figured it was just yet another slur/insult on my beliefs.
WELCOME!   :2thumbs:  Lots of great people in here and I'm sure you can add to the wisdom and fun we have in here! Stick around brother! Your ride is quite interesting/unique! Sure made me look twice...3 times even!

Tell me more how Jesus would find the use of his name as offensive.  Since he is God why don't you let Him deal with it?  Didn't this guy tell you he got the nickname because his friends considered him the all knowing one in the group about Mopars?  I would consider that an acknowledgement that Jesus is all knowing.  What I got from some of these replies is you are offended because you feel someone is trying to offend you.  Try to see the nonsense in that.

You are right, Jesus doesn't care.  I however do.
I suppose it is similar to the feelings that people have when they see the American flag being burned or being worn as a T-shirt.  It is not the actual violation of the object, rather it is the in-your-face hostility to your beliefs.  Anyone who feels the necessity to offend someone's beliefs, values or faith is not a considerate person and should perhaps reconsider his actions.
I'm not one to get bent out of shape because because my faith is being insulted, but  at the same time I feel I too have the right to express my disgust at those insults.  To ridicule someone who is different than you is just wrong.  Your handle, given to you by friends, can be easily changed....why not take the initiative and demonstrate your maturity?

On the other hand, Jesus H Chrysler, you are very welcome here.  Don't take this bickering as anything serious, it is just disagreement between friends. I know what a great resource this site is, and despite all our differences, we all have something in common that bonds us together.  Heck, we even welcome our less-advantaged members tho own Challengers to join!
