I don't know a lot about Ebodys newer than 71.  To the best of my knowledge the temperature sending unit is in the block at same location for the 72 and 74. The lines you see on your radiator are vacuum lines.  When the raditor sensor gets hot it acts like a gate and allows the vacuum to pass through the lines.  This vacuum operates something in the emmisions system.  I have a 74 Challenger parts car here but much of it is missing.  I will look at it on Monday and see if I can find where the lines go. If I can look at it tomorrow I will.

I looked at my 74 parts car.  Since everything is not there I have to guess at where the lines went.  I have vacuum lines that look like they were to the radiator.  One goes from the carburetor, the vacuum source, to the radiator sensor/gate switch.  The other line goes from the switch to the EGR valve.  I am guessing the switch allowed the EGR valve to open only after the radiator reached a set temperature.

Now that could be right, most of the motors had a sensor for the EGR & Vac. advance but usually was on the motor itself.

Well here is my new dilemma this radiator is no good "as some of you suspected" and I would like to just get a new one but I would like to use the shroud that came with it.I found one radiator at Rockauto but from the picture I see no holes in the flange for the shroud to bolt up to.Does any one know where I can find a radiator that will work with this shroud? The part # on the shroud is 3691920 and the radiator from which it came is part # 36392926 from a 74 318 Barracuda. I measured the total width of radiator and came up with 26 " the bolt holes for the shroud are about 18 5/8" across and 16" top to bottom.I would really hate to buy a radiator that wont work with the shroud so if anybody can point me in the right direction it would be very appreciated!
