    Still progressing slowly , Some the work to make the AMD quarters fit better. We made sure we had all the sheet metal hung and adjusted for the proper gaps and all the weatherstrips in the doors and trunk before we tacked in the quarters. As you can see the AMD trunk lid rear corners didnt follow the contours of the AMD quarter panels and was modified  , also material had to be added to the quarter areas around the sides of the trunk opening to get the gap correct. Some added to the door top and quarter. We had to slice the quarter to get it to fit around the contours of the original taillight panel.. We hammered and dollied the seam flat on the AMD quarter sail panel seams and cut the original sail for a butt welded joint that was Tig welded with 1/16 ER70S rod (thanks John Chris & Tom From J&C Auto restoration for this part of the restoration process.) More Adjustments will be made to the sheet metal , I will be sure to try to post them. Once this part is done , back apart  and it will go back on the rotisserie so I can finish the bottom. Then body panels back together on the shell for final adjustments , mods, and polyester .

    Ok, so poly for a filler coat, then sand, then prime.  What type of primer after the poly?

    I really don't know anything about auto paint, so I'm just picking your brain here.

    My body man had similar issues getting the new quarters and deck lid to fit properly.  He also did some cutting and re-welding to get everything to fit correctly and be the proper gaps.  He is a true artist when it comes to fabrication.   :2thumbs:

    Yeah, I am glad they make full quarters today but there is no way that they are close to original . This is why I decided to use the original fenders to put the fender gills in , AMD would have been too much work to get right.  :bigsmile:

    John,
    Did you make the angle mount for the Wilwood clutch master cylinder or was that part of the Keisler kit? Do you have any better pics? As I plan to add hydroboost later I need to make sure i have clearance so I need to use master cylinder on an angle like you have set up.

    I used the Keisler hydraulic clutch kit.I would think Silver sport transmission should have the blueprints on this. Here are the pictures I have. I also have only a couple more of those 1 inch thick hydroboost mounting plates , more info on www.custommachinecomponents.com  . Sorry I been busy in the shop lately so I need to do a update on the cuda build soon.  :bigsmile:

    Here is some more progress. As you can see the fenders , doors , roof are all in polyester. In the last picture you will see two 3/8 dia metal rods were added to the inner roof (with seam sealer sandwiched in between the interior roof panel). What this does is make the roof more solid , keeps the car like sounding like a base drum. If you push down center on your roof foward and back of the center roof brace (the one the dome light connects to) you will see what I am talking about . The factory was inferior in this area as it needed more bracing. The progress is still going a little slow than I hoped ,and I still need to modify (lower) the front and rear pans, and finish the floorboards.  :bigsmile:

    I still have a bit to do , it depends alot on my work schedule  , but I am hoping to finish the body and have paint on it this winter some time..  :bigsmile:
