Hello, This was just a percautionary measure as the body is fairly solid.POR 15 was soaked into the areas that could'nt be reached after media blasting like inside the door seams , quarter seams . any pinch weld areas , ect ect

Today (as I am waiting on a lift at the shop so I can install the motor and trans)I finished the fitting the rear section on the roll bar , everything is tack welded in for now. I have to wait on my rear door panels to check for fitment. I plan on a shoulder harness mounts, removable center support and front braces.

It will definitely add some rigidity and strenth to the car , no doubt.

To futher update.  I have the motor and trans installed today. I removed the RMS front suspension and mounted the Engine and tranny onto it. Then lowered it onto the body. This went rather smoothly other than I had to crearance some of the tunnel opening around the firewall (but I anticipated that). As you can see the car is sitting a litting lower in the front. A special thanks to John & Chris at J & C Auto Restoration ( www.jcautorestoration.com ) for letting me use there lift and giving me a helping hand.

Cage looks great, I plan on something similar to help the rigidity of the car (uni-bodies!  :swear:) and also make room to properly attach kids seats to the frame. (only stipulation implemented by my Wife  :icon16:)

What are your plans for the rear seat? Any plans for front harnesses? I've built, in my head, a system that would allow back access but still securely hold shoulder straps. I'd have to really try it to see how I felt about it.

John,
What size front tire, wheels and backspace are you running with the AlterKation?
Thanks, Wes

Hello, with the Alterkation and the Street Lynx suspension,  I am running a 245 45 17 tire on the front with 17X8 rim 5.72 backspace and 1/4 wheel spacer. The rear is 285 40 18 tire with a 18X10 rim and 7.24 backspace. Overall you want to shoot for 26X9 on the front and 27X11 on the rear. This is the best combination I came up with without modifying the rear tubs. Those rims are bullet wheels with Nitto tires bought directly from American Muscle. Since this is going to be a triple black car ,I figured black wheels would set it off.
