Remote trunk mods ,I took a 68 imperial remote trunk lock assembly and modified it to fit a challenger trunk latch.I plan on a trunk lock switch under the dash. I followed by welding the trunk lock hole shut for a cleaner look.

I decided to add the power door lock set up after Travis72 and ShelbyDogg had done theirs. See Shelbydoggs great thread http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=26012.0  The only thing I did is milled 2 aluminum mounting blocks at a 15 degree angle as I didnt like the metal mounting strips the kit cam with.

I would put a cable pull on the trunk latch as an emergency just in case something goes wrong like a dead battery or something.  :2cents:

Maybe add a remote to your key fob also like a new car  :ylsuper:

Yeah Scott, I plan on a emergency cable for the driver door and the trunk. Something alot of people leave out.If not you may have to break something to get in.

Installed the shaved door handle kit from Electric Life. I had to weld on some tabs on the door latch assemblies with a extra hole for the cable to run thu in order to do it correctly. I add some spring loaded door pushers in the door jam so when the popper releases the latch that the heavy cuda door can spring open . The mounting brackets for the door popper solenoid had to be modified to fit the door. I also purchased the Electric life power window regulators after contacting member Travis72 had problems with the Nu-Relic models

Just read though this whole thread....some really awesome work you've done so far!  :bananasmi

I was thinking of shaving my door handles as well and would like to hear your feedback on the door poppers and which ones you went with.  I've seen a bunch out there but not too sure if they would "pop" open the heavy 'Cuda door!

Thank you Cuda-Challenger.com members for the great response on this project.  Travis72  ,The Electric Life power window kit installed easy. I didnt order the switches yet or adjust any windows ,but powered with a battery they moved up and down easily. (just a little faster than I liked). But yes should be better than the New Relics power window kit.      RDF  , The door latch popper kit I used is a Electric life part # 99003  , So far so good ,(I havent powered up that one yet) Not much instructions with the kit as its universal.    Trouble987  PM sent  Keep the feedback coming    :wavingflag:

Some more progress on the front bumper. I shortened the lenth 4 inches and cut a 1/2 from the top so the bumper fits closer to the grill and the bumper ends sit flush with the side of the fenders. The bumper brackets were modified and shortened over a inch.

I decided to get rid of the sloppy trunk torsion rod and convert to  gas cylinder  lift. After calulating the weight of the trunk lid , purchased 2 gas cylinders. I mounted it on the steel hinges first to establish the right mounting hole to mount the gas cylinder. I welded 2 brackets to the roll bar for solid mount. I used some 1/2 thick 6061-T6 aluminum to make some new trunk hinges. I pressed in 2 steel bushings for the pivot hole. The result is a much smoother trunk lid opening and closing.

Look sweet John.  Great craftsmanship.  I did the gas struts in my trunk as well, but I don't have the equipment or skill to make a set of trunk hinges like that.

I ended up buying a set of the Electric Life power windows to try.  I'll probably put them on in a few weeks.

Nice work John! When at final assembly maybe use some stainless button head cap screws to compleate the look!
