Removal of the XV type bars gained 3 inches of clearance. Now its easier to run my wires for the headlights ,fan ect...

In order to hide the coils under the manifold, Indy makes a plate that mounts on the underside of the manifold once the factory plate is removed. I had to extend the coil power feed wires to make this work. Also the heater hose lines had to be modified because of interference. The LH side had to be removed and replaced with a flexible braided line.

Looks better with the US cartool braces! :2thumbs:  I always was concerned with the other set up clearance wise.

I've enjoyed reading all the enhancements you've done and a lot of them I'd read about but not seen pictures of.  Always looking forward to see what you do next.

I had given it some thought. Due to the shaker Scoop being in the way it would be hard to use straight bends on the tubing. I would rather triangulate if I can..My thinking is,the way Bill has the Alterkation set up is the front coilovers mounts bolt to the lower frame so I plan on doing some stitch welding on the cowl ,floor and door supports similar like Aaron Beck had did with his car , But I dont really believe a shock tower brace its needed.

I stich welded ever seam on my Cuda and the difference was amazing, well not that I've driven it yet but while on rotisseriefloor pans tightened right up.

Yeah Grimmey71, I plan on pulling the car apart this winter to finish the body anyway. Stitch welding some of the seams is on the what to do list, while its on the rotisserie .

Since the trunk space is limited and I have the trunk panel in there to hide some of the wiring, I had to find a good compact spare. The spare tire from a 93-94 Mustang cobra fits well. The wheel has a deep and wide diameter to clear the big brakes, plus its 26" tall. One of the great things about it is the rim is aluminum and weighs only 21 lbs.. I was able to stick it in flush inside my trunk panel. I have to modify the back seat frame a little .

I agree that the shock tower brace over the engine is not needed , the whole front subframe takes the load , the upper bracing is a big help but the upper coil mount doesn't load against the inner fender at all

I too used a Ford ( Lincoln )space saver rim and tire off a S-10 spare to get the sizing. I got the idea from this post! :2thumbs:

Yeah Brad,When I went to the junkyard, I looked at the Lincoln town car spare and found out the wheel needed to be slightly opened up for it to clear the axle register . The 93-94 Cobra spare had a larger opening and fit my axle shafts like a glove. Another plus was I noticed the dish in the center was big enough to clear the 13" brakes the Mustang Cobras had.
