The metal work is progressing slowly as my time allows.. I wanted to make the roof rail channel molding disappear into to roof rail so I extended the roof down about 3/4 of a inch enough to hide the molding but high enough to clear the door glass. There is some more stitch welding of the seams and I cut a small section from the lip of the RH frame rail to give me clearance for the alternator when I drop the body over the motor . Finishing up most of the metal work and welding on top of the car before I put it on the rotisserie .

You are putting some work in to it John :2thumbs: Are you thinking about Blackening out all the remaining stainless that will be left on the car buddy. So when the gutter rubber goes back on, is their extra metal that extaends down to create a drip edge of some sort, i was thinking something that hung down just a 1/4" would be enough and double up as hidding the chanel at the same time.

One thing I found out about not having a drip moulding, when it is raining and you have the window cracked, the rain comes in. Never had to worry about it till I drove my convertible. On the Hot Rod Power Tour, It always rained a day or two.
I never planned on driving it in the rain, ever, but it happens.

Thanks Ken   . There will not be any drip rail moldings ,just the gutter molding which will be hidden from view. The roof rail weatherstrip rides above the gutter molding so there is enough room to clear the glass from the roof rail, so the roof edge will be the drip edge. I also plan on flush mounting all the glass so there won't be any stainless moldings. I even thought of deleting the stainless trim around the grille.  I have to see what it looks like first. All in all the look I am after is no trim , and cleaning up the body of the car by eliminating as much as possible.... If you see something here everyone ,let me know

20 years ago back in 1993, we did just that to my brother-in-laws 71 Cuda.

We shaved the drip rails off and flush mounted the back glass and windshield. Used black rubber "T" locking strip instead of the original stainless :2thumbs: Looked very cool :bigshades:

Not to get to far off topic, but Allan, I have a picture of that cuda from years ago.  I think its from the Performance World car show in Toronto, I will guess around 1991.  That is one of the cars that inspired me to go a little wild with the pain on my car!

Any idea where the car is now.

If it was indeed this car Jason, it won Grand Champion Performance World 1994. It was sold, and now is in Wisconsin.

Now....there was another Pro Street 1970 Cuda from the Toronto area that also started out yellow and ended up Magenta with graphics more like your colour combos. It was called Hyper-cuda.

An update on my progress so far. Finished welding up most of holes I dont need in the body and frame, finished welding in the tunnel, tunnel braces, transmission cross member gussets, roll cage, cowl braces ect ect  Shaved the shock towers ,  and welded the seam  on the firewall.  ect ,ect. I DA'd the roof so when I blast it I can do it at a angle eliminate it warping. .I still have to finish the rockers and modify my outer wheel tubs before I can get ready for the blaster.

Wow !

I just love this build.

Any chance of a close up view of how that drip rail system works?
