Always wanted to replace the big block in the Roadrunner with a Hemi and no kidding one of the big pluses is the ability to run large tube headers and not go anywhere near them when changing plugs.  I have to use a combination of wrenches, extensions, etc. to change the plugs in the RR and its a serious pain in the @$$.  And I'm seriously considering HP manifolds for the Barracuda even though its a small block because its going to be more of a driver than the RR so getting the last HP out of it isn't the top priority.  Haven't 100% decided though.

Hedmans wouldn't clear the compact starter on my RR's 383 and since I'd bought the coated ones I wasn't about to start hammering on them.  I've got Hookers on the RR now, they clear everything but 2-3 plugs are a real 'challenge' to get in & out.  Trust me, I'm not making this stuff up.

the factory manifolds are among the best < I do a lot of porting on then to match up the fit & flow potential , the best fit is either TTi or Dougs headers

I have a 71 challenger 440 with the schumacker shorties.  They were easy to put on.  No banging or modifing.  Also able to keep the rest of the exhaust tucked under the car for clearence.

what does everyone think of extrude honing? I know its not headers but maybe an alternative. If you already had the manifolds to hone the price isnt much different.

My TTIs on a B engine are not too bad. You still go under the manifold to change the plugs. Headers are a pain if you have to change a starter though. Why didn't Chrysler put the starter on the right??? Otherwise the headers are great.

probably because of the longer run to the battery

I can port the manifolds as far as I can reach , I do have one set of factory big block manifolds I need to sell .
Extrude hone works too just do not get too thin
