    How much of the drivetrain (340/6, trans & rear) is original to the car and how much did you struggle with the idea of changing the paint color on such a rare car (I'm considering changing mine from Red to Sublime one of these days)?

    Back at U.
    The AAR is original. The engine is a factory replacement, The First owner raced it and grenaded  the engine. Power steering was removed original trans, original rear 3:55. Build sheet and vin tag. As for the paint. When we purchased it in 1985 the clear coat was peeling from the roof. I saw other AAR's with the other great colors, so decided to go for the Moulan Rouge Plymouth.
     If it had been some other color I wouldn't  have changed the color. It had a repaint in 2006. Original floor, trunk, quarters, etc,
     Back in 1985 there were about 8 AAR's at the reginal carshows.  Now there are about 3. It gets a lot of attention with the color.
     
    Get a lot of know it alls that don't like it Pink but they don't have an AAR. My son just got his license in 1985 chicks were all over him.

    Hey Jeff, glad you made it over here finally!!!  :wave:

    Both cars are absolutely beautiful, and we certainly don't have alot of real AAR's or T/A's over here in Maryland so its always sweet to see it out.  :droolingbounce:

    Let em talk, you know how many guys over at Marley are driving cars that didnt come that color? Heck, my B5 car came in GF7 originally......  :cheers:

    Since we had some nice weather recently.The past 3 wks i have been busy painting engine hardware on my Gran Coupe and my friends Road Runners, horns, brackets, engine, etc.
    Forgot to take pic of RR.
    OOOPs  After posting pic I noticed I have the trans linkage upside down. !!runs ok will correct Monday.  :clueless:

    Made some corrections to the Gran Coupe Convertible past couple of weeks.
    Added the Barracuda emblems
    removed the Cuda emblems.
    Stripped the black from the Road Rims.
    Saw the Road Rims in chrome on a 1970 Gran Coupe ad.
    Plymouth made changes by painting the rims black.
    Looks like I will change to the Rallye Rims
    Still waiting since Feb. for my luggage rack trunk lid from paint shop, Gees.

    Looking more and more like the factory!! Now all you need to do is ditch the cuda tail panel trim and add the 3-piece trim around the truck and quarter sides. I am dreading paying the over 500 bucks for a set of GC chrome grill inserts.

    Why would I spend excess money to change something that is original to this car.
    Build sheet code M38 same code for AAR.
    How about if i change the rear valance back to original no hole valance. California law restricted  exhaust thru the valance.

    Oh yeah!! You are right Now I remember there was vid with a red Gran coupe that had that trim. Mine was a LA car and I heard they had turned down exhausts and the AAr style back valence. Mine had that valence when I bought it but the exhaust had chrome exhaust tips that looked kinda roadrunner ish that stuck out just under the valence, ( one was rusty and had holes in it ).   I like the look of the poke through exhaust  and cannot stand emmissions forced regulatory changes to vehicles and am dying to add the CUDA exhaust system . :bigsmile: Will probably buy it from Accurate exhausts minus the resonators and added electronic cutouts. I plan on waking up the neighbors at 2 AM with the start-ups who mow thier lawns constantly when they know I work nights. BUDDA BUDDA BRAPP!! BRAAAPP VROOM!!! I am saving the pennies for a MOnster engine build that will provide the b-17 Bomber decible range. :stirpot: :poopoke: :hyper:

    Finally after the paint shop had the trunk lid to paint I replaced th spoiler with an original luggage rack.
    Had both trunk lids and rear deck painted to match.
