Service manual on CD?
« on: December 04, 2004 - 01:04:10 PM »
Has anyone bought the service manual on CD?  I saw this sometime ago in Mopar Muscle mag, can't recall name of company selling.

So any feedback on where to get and if it's worth the money would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Katfish

I have it on CD and got it from www.1aauto.com
There is a lot of info on the CD and is basically all the pages from the body shop and repair manuals that have been scanned in and put in a database.  So all the diagrams and references are there.  I think I paid about $40 for it and it has come in handy a couple times.  In my opinion $40 isn't bad considering you would pay alot more for the original books.

And this one is about $120.00.  I have one and have used it some.  Probably not 120 bucks worth though.   :banghead:

Does anyone make backup copies of the CDs they buy with CD burners?  You know, incase they get scratched up or something?  I'm not at all suggesting that board members could burn copies for each other.

$70 bucks does seem sorta high, I would definitely make a back-up copy in case something happened to it.  Might even be smart to let someone else hold this extra copy for safe keeping.  ;)

I'm not at all suggesting that is a really good idea.           :outtahere:

Yes.  You can print individual pages.  And yes, you can burn a fully functioning backup copy.  ;D

Thanks HemiDog,

I went ahead and ordered from A1, total cost with shipping was $48.  I'm cheap!
Mopar manuals would have been $75.  >:(

I need it for my 70 Challenger, I have an original paper version, but don't want to get any more grease on it.   ;D
