You could try the 300 club of Germany to see if anyone there has a spare third member; http://www.300c-forum.de/  The German Mopar Nationals are in January I believe, so you already missed those.  You could contact moparshop.de and see if they have any or have a lead on anyone local to you who might have a complete third member. There also is the Chrysler club of Sweden. While not exactly in your back yard, shipping might be better from Scandanavian countries than from the US.

If I order an A833OD it will need 3-4 months before I can drop it in.

Sorry, I thought that you already had an 833OD and were looking for the right gear.  833ODs go for $75 to $400 around here.

No problem your hints and advice are applicable anyway. It's quite a wide price span. What is your source for those A833ODs? If I got one I'd had to modify the front bearing retainer and the extension housing (tailshaft) before I can drop it in, right?

Theoretically you're right but from my experience in most cases it's more convenient to search for parts in USA. You have much more sources and if you are lucky to deal with someone who knows about what he is selling you can get some advice in addition. Sometimes you will not find what you want but what you need;)
Very often it's even cheaper. As an example: moparshop.de asked $2200 for the AMD hood, which I got from Dave at Roseville Moparts for a third part of that price. Sometimes people just don't want to ship to Europe:/

Front bearing retainer is turned down to 4.80 to fit a big block bell housing. If used behind a small block, the bell housing hole has to be enlarged to the big block size. Transmissions are found here at swap meets or Craigslist.org for various prices

I have to respect you guys over the pond that play with these cars. You face challenges to ownership that would probably deter a lot of guys here if they had the same obstacles.
Keep up the faith!

Is it possible to use a tailhousing from a standard A833.

I've been on the list for about a year and a half, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go in another direction at this point. If anybody wants to take my build when it comes up I'd be open to that.

Okay, I got to put some miles on the 4sp OD this weekend.  Remember my cars is a 440, 4sp, 4:10 Dana.

The drivability is awesome, cruising down the freeway at 65 MPH at 2300 rpm.  :jumping:  Slow down to 55 and you can down shift to third (1:1) and the RPMs jump to around 3000 and the acceleration is quick and steady. I shifted back to forth at 5500, the RPMs dropped back down to around 3300 at 80 plus mph.

The overall gear spread is great, 1st is a tad taller than stock, 2nd is even a little taller (before I had to get into 3rd rather quickly to keep the revs down, around town I can now stay in 3rd and only need to shift into 4th when I get above 45 mph.

Current ride - 1970 Barracuda 440-6 4 sp Dana 60  (4:10)

Even though Im the OP, I have shifted my mentality toward staying with a 4 speed. That way I dont have to change my lens on top the handle  plus over $4000.
The 4 speed OD looks like the ticket for a 3.54 and my style of driving
Regardless, Im holding off for right now, pending trying to sell the car. If I dont have it sold by this summer, I could be doing an OD swap in the fall. Would allow me to kill two birds with one stone again...solve my persistent leak at the rear of the tailhousing. Like many on here the spinning u-joint tends to sling oil around that area, and Ive replaced the seal twice. Maybe replace the yoke too since that seems to usually be the culprit.  :banghead:

I also will be interested if it's gonna shorten my waiting period.

By the way, any news? Did they start the first batch already?
