EASTWOOD is donating an Original HotCoat Gun, plus 8 oz of your choice of colored powder to be given to a CC.com member!

Great news guys....one of you will soon own an EASTWOOD HotCoat Powder Coat Gun.  I used an early version of this product years ago and was amazed at not only being able to powder coat at home myself, but also of the great results I achieved.  I used it to powder coat the two Holley carburetors on my 427FE side-oiler in my Cobra.  It took some time, but they are simply the prettiest damn carbs I've ever seen on a car.  I was able to match them in red and silver to the body colors of red and silver.  I have posted pics elsewhere on the board.

Now it's your chance!  To enter just tell us, and show us with a pic if you can, what are your ideas for how you'd use the HotCoat powder coat system right away.  And while it's not required we'd love to know that you'll share your results with progress reports and pics of your project.

You will need a source of air and some form of non-food electric oven.  The electric oven can be as simple as a toaster oven.....and if you don't have one maybe even something used purchased off craigslist, but please don't enter if you don't have these.  In fact, please tell us that you do or your plan in your entry thread.

This is the gun:

and these are the powder colors you can choose from:

The contest entry period will run for one month, terminating on 4/9/11, with the winner, chosen by reps from both EASTWOOD and CC.com, to be announced shortly thereafter.

Remember, so that all can join in on this we're hoping our winner will share their journey with photos and posts of their parts.  If this goes well I'm sure we can talk more goodies out of EASTWOOD, and we all know they have lots of the goodies that folks like us need.

If you enter your email addy will be provided to EASTWOOD to receive updates on their newest products and sales, however, if you prefer you may opt out by PMing to me.

OK, LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!!!!

Cool....I'd use their translucent gold powder-coat to refinish the linkage & air door on my Thermoquad

Welcome Eastwood! Thanks for the support! :2thumbs:
I'd use the powder coating gun for my lower control arms, and adjustable strut rods I made ! So far I'm just using a rattle can paint job. Powder coat would be sweet! I'm planning on buying an old oven as I need one to install valve seats in my aluminum heads soon.

I also just aquired a set of Viper calipers that I'd like to powder coat red.

I assembled my car last year but painted alot of parts I wanted coated, but time and $$$ didn't allow it. If I had that system I would coat some brackets, suspension parts and under hood parts. It would be nice to add some finishing touches to my ride and of course I would keep you updated with pics and progress :) I even have and old oven to 'cook' with and if I lose, then I can still ship the parts to my fellow cc.com winner to do  :poopoke:

I got so many projects. How about any thing to do with these two....

And I got an old used oven. Sounds like I might know what to do with it now.  :2thumbs:

Dave,

You tell us...what would you do first on either of these projects?  What could you show us your progress on?

Dave,

You tell us...what would you do first on either of these projects?  What could you show us your progress on?

I hardly know where to start. The truck I think is going to be first. As it needs the least to get running again. I would start under the hood with the stuff on top. Air cleaner, brackets, valve covers, stuff like that. I could even mix in some of the underdash items from my orange challenger as that is the next to do area of that project.

And just to through some more items in, the trailer jack on my trailer could sure use a nice new finish.

I would for sure take lots of pictures from start to finish on what ever gets done. I'll do that anyway even if I don't win. I could have sure used this when I was doing the suspension on purple, but it's done now.
