500 Euro's .... is that per week? Day? Hour?

Well Brad... It is per month. I serve in the army and I get about 1100 euro. I'm with the lucky ones. A guy in my age (29) if he works in a good company (10-12 hours plus), he will get about 650-700 euro. My father's pension for example is 420 euro...

Wow Interesting and shocking. I'm wondering how the heck one survives on 762 Can ( 500 euro) per month?  :22yikes:
This Christmas... at the grocery store I spent $771 for groceries for one week! I already had a turkey and a ham. This is a record for me that I'm NOT happy about and I figure it will only get worse with the socialist government the people here just elected.
In Sweden the cost of living I'd imagine must be relative to your wages? I'm stumped on how you can afford to build your car?

Brad, Telis lives in Greece, and their economy has been shakey for a while now. I'm sure they will bounce back though. In Sweden wages are about 10-15 times higher than in Greece, I make about 8000 US dollars per month, got to keep a bit more than half. My house cost about 2000/month, grocerys 1000/month, I pay for one of my daughters private schools, 2 more kids in free schools, transportation, and I'm still able to build a Challenger, but I have to plan it well though.

My mistake I thought it was Sweden, that you though. Our/your expenses seem similar but the wages are much lower for me.   I'm lucky in that my house is paid off.

Seeing that I now know where Obama is getting his ideas for the repeated tax increases.

Brad as Soundcontrol said, I live in Greece. The wages are all here like that, but everyday goods (groceries meat etc) are lower on the prices as we have a small population and there is a local production of basic goods, although getting smaller and smaller. The problem is buying stuff like cars, cell phones, TVs etc (or Muscle Cars parts  :poopoke:) which are produced outside the country and commanding bigger percentage of the income. My Challenger was bought for about 15k and been saving money for 3 years. Almost a year and a quarter wages went there. Not complaining though. It was a dream of owning a E-Body Mopar. Anyway the people are used to these wages, only non employment and even lower wages are the problem now...

Soundcontrol, as I was writing the response I noticed the photo and thought, are we talking about the tax in the babe thread? Then I read about the King Kong. Yes, 100% unnoticeable

Remember those ads in all the comics when I was a kid. The two man submarine and Charles Atlas ads were great too.
They probably taught valuable lessons to thousands of naive kids
