It looks nice but that's alot of $ for a 318 Barracuda. I think you should be able to get a nice real 70 Cuda for that much or less.

The price is high. I would think a car like that, if it is in near perfect condition with no rust would be worth at most $30k in this market. Maybe high $20s.
And me personally, I woudl rather have a nice 440 in it that the original 318. But it would be nice to also have the original motor for the sake of it.

But if you like the color and options it has, and arent looking for an original car, it looks like its worth following up on and asking detailed questions and requesting further pictures.

I guess you are right.
I've been looking for about 5 years now for a descent cuda at a good price and haven't found it yet.
I know exctely what I want : 71 cuda, sassy grass green, manual, 340 or bigger, around 25-40k max!
Now, I'm getting desperate  :pullinghair:
So I'm widening my requirements to include : 70 models, auto and other colors.
Also, it is way easier for me to find one in Canada, however I'm not limited to that.
Anyways, thanks for the advice.

Found this one now : http://www.cars-on-line.com/50239.html
right year, right tranny, in my top 3 color choices, in Canada, but priced high according to people's comments on here I think and older restoration.

Nice but automatic .... :(
To me, a cuda must be manual!
So for me to consider an auto means the price will give me some leeway to make the conversion to manual.
In this case, at 39K + taxes I'll have to pay at customs will bring me far to high to afford the conversion.
Very nice car though....thanks for the link!
Might still contact seller anyways to get some info.

Also, just noticed this green cuda doesn't have hood pins nor the chrome molding along rocker panel (not sure that's what's it's called).

they are called rocker moldings and as far as hood pins they were optional. i am a 4 speed guy myself but i wouldn't buy a real cuda that was an auto a switch it to a 4 speed, you would be hurting the value , but if it was a 6 cyl or 318 car i would do it. :2cents: or if it was a 72-74 i would also do it(sorry if i offended anyone).

unless that phantasm car has the original drivetrain, I think it's about as close as you're going to find. If the bodywork and paint was done right, its a great start! You'll be more than half way there!
Remember, you're almost certainly not going to find the exact car youre looking for. Make him a ridiculous offer. You never know?
And the 4 speed swap is done all the time.

I bet if you could get that car for $30k, which is about what I think its worth (if they "restored" it properly, and its not #s matching) you could probably do a 440-4speed swap and still be at about $40k in it. Though I dont know what it will cost you to get it to Canada?
Ask Brads70, he knows lots about getting a US car to canada.

To me, a cuda must be manual!

I prefer a manual transmission too. I went with a 5-speed in my Cuda. I'll keep my eyes open for ya' -- and I'm sure a lot of other members here will as well.

Most of  the prices on cudaworld are stupid, same with Ebay.If someone really wants to sell just ask for a fair price, the market is in the tank but these people did not get that notice.Cars are only worth what someone is willing to paid.

4speed fish : I agree with that! Lots of crazy prices out there.
Got in contact with seller of Phantasm car :
http://www.cars-on-line.com/51851.html
Turns out it's a BH car , originally with a 318.
Underside doesn'T look like it's been done in ages, no idea on the engine.
So, to me, this car is not worth 39K at all! not even 30K for that matter.

So I'm still looking for my dream car: 1971 cuda, sassy grass green, manual 340 at around 30K.
