Lots of large aftershocks going on in Japan...could keep the tsunami warnings going for a while.  Volcano is torching off in Indonesia now too  :scared:  I suggest all our friends in California batten down the hatch, because the earth is getting extremely active now.  I thought the end of the world wasn't until 2012?   :faint:

In one area of Japan supposedly they have 2 nuclear power pants that may have issues.  :scared:

I guess in 1923 or somethint Tokyo was destroyed by an earthquake.  They supposedly get 20% of the earths earthquakes over a 6.0 in magnitude or something like that.  :faint:

:grinyes: Weird, I for my homepage, I have verse-a-day (Bible verses) and this one today seemed so appropriate:

Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.
— Psalm 86:6-7 (NIV)

We got nuthin here in S.D. maybe a foot above normal and it was at low tide at that.

This is crazy. Watching the news and looking at the tragedy in Japan. Hoping for the best on the nuke plants.

Yeah it's very crazy and for what I gathered the plants are on batteries that are not going to last long and they have no other way of cooling. So it doesn't look so good.

Apparently a wall blew out @ Fukushima, not melting the core yet though. Hopefully they will find a way to cool it soon.

Hope not they are detecting cesium which normally means meltdown is beginning. Radiation levels a 1000x's normal levels. Boy them 9.1's sure are destructive.

17 boats sank at Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor.
Water drops and rises up to 6 feet on the incoming.

:clueless:  What direction would that wind be bringing the smoke?  Would it be able to make it to the west coast of the US?  :clueless:

If a worse case accident happens the radioactivity would be distributed via the prevailing wind which would bring it to the west coast of North America.  Remember that during WWII, Japan used balloons and the prevailing winds to send bombs over to the US.  A few actually made it too!  Detectable radioactivity would eventually be distributed across the globe like what was seen with Chernobyl (sp?)
