i probably over reacted which i regret.  barry has been around for a long time and has seen the changes the board is going through.  hes obviously not a fan of these changes and for that all i can say is i personally am doing the best i can.  i can assure you guys barry and i havent had any previous issues, nor did i force him out.  i started this board 10 years ago, just because i wanted to help the mopar community which had been so good to me through owning my charger.  i didnt even own a cuda/challenger for that entire time.  early on i was fortunate to get the server space for free and i took advantage of that as long as i could.  that gravy train hit the end of the line a couple years ago however and things started costing me money.  ive invested thousands and thousands of dollars and countless hours keeping this site going to the very best of my ability.  so again im sorry for everyone and im sorry to barry if the advertisers is a bit of a culture shock around here, but please think of it from my perspective.  i promise were gonna keep the advertisements tasteful and relevent.  you may see more companies in the future, but you wont see more physical site space taken up.  i think the site looks pretty good and im happy with the job ive done, so i guess i my feelings were a little hurt by his repeated comments.  im only human, but i love this board and i want it to keep going as long as possible.

I know for myself because it's so easy to join up with a forum and just post this and that about a topic that often times we take for granted what it takes to keep a forum operation.  Unfortunately nothing in life is free, there's always a cost, whether it's time, money or something else.  Thanks for your efforts, Ross.  :grinyes:

Barry, come back!!!  Let's just sweep it under the rug.  We need you here!

I understand the advertising. Thanks for all you do Ross.  :2thumbs: It's been tasteful and relevant I have no problem with it. Most sponsers have giveaways or discounts, what more could you ask? I'm on a few other sites and they all have advertising, just a fact of life. It's not like we are paying for a membership? I've made some great friendships from this site and hope it will always be here.

thanks for the support guys.  of all the dozens and dozens of forums ive been on in my time i still think this one has the very best people out of any of them.  were a small, but very tight and friendly group.  some of the people ive met in person because of this site i consider to be very good friends.  and with that said i know theres still work to be done here.  i know people miss the chat, as do i.  unfortunately the chat is a little behind in its update, but i know it will be back soon and i will get it up asap.  im also trying to figure out ways to archive pictures so they dont have to disappear.  i know i cant please everyone, but i were in a good place right now with plenty of very knowledgable and resourceful people and the future is bright.

Jackie stays in contact with Barry from past posts I've seen.

Perhaps Jackie could persuade Barry to come back?  :dunno:

Never replace a guy like Barry. Thanks for all you 've done Barry and hope you come back. I had a nasty reply awhile back and as mad as I was I just let it go, even though I am stil fuming over it.

Before i became a member here i had lurked around this site a few times and saw how much a family all you guys were here and also the knowledge that comes with it just amazed me. Most everyone here is some of the most laid back easy going people there is for a car forum and many friendships have been made even though most of us have never met one another. And thanks to you Ross for all you do to keep this site going for all of us mopar gearheads to have a place to hang out and get advice or help on our cars when we sometimes need it most  :worshippy Barry i hope you come back as well as you are part of this forum with all your knowledge and humor as well  :2thumbs:

Not sure I understand peoples problems with the advertising.

It's Mopar related, and so far all I've come across is what is posted within a thread - it's not like we get 5 Pop-ups for penis enlargements everytime we open a new topic.

Plus the adds themselves are smaller than half the forum members signatures. If people want them gone then cough up some cash - better yet, get over yourselves, gain a little perspective and deal with it.

Ross,

My absolute appreciation & thanks to you for this site.  Without it, I would not have had the confidence to have taken on so many new projects in the restoration of my car that would have been beyond my ability had I not always had the support I get from everyone here.  I/We have some idea of the cost associated with running this site and I/we support your decisions on the tasteful & related advertising.  It's a useful necessity.

That said, let's all give Barry some reflection time as we look forward to his return to the forum.
