When welding roof to quarter panel , how do you remove all the lead

Hi ,
Getting ready to install the roof.
When welding roof to quarter panel , how do you remove all the lead from the seam area to MIG weld.   I read the post on what filler to use or to re-lead.  But pretty sure I can't remove the lead from the seam so welding won't work
What have you guys done?.

Heat the area with a propane torch and when the lead becomes shiny wipe it with a wet rag. Keep doing this until it's clean. Then use a metal wash to remove the residue.
And wear gloves. The wet rag will steam and get quite warm.

make sure you wear a decent dust mask grinding or sanding that stuff

propane torch and a wire brush works perfect. Make sure you wear gloves. and if you are a smoker dont smoke while messing with lead. You can easily get lead poisoning.
