Signing off for a few days
« on: March 20, 2011 - 09:39:18 PM »
Hey guys and gals. I'm taking off for Branson Missouri tomorrow at 6:00 AM. Going down with my brother in law so I won't have excess to a puter. He left today with his Dakota trying to pull a fairly big enclosed trailer. At least to big for his truck. Started to cook the trans so he turned around and called and asked if I would pull his trailer with my truck. Hopefully we are heading to warmer weather instead of the crap we are having.

Later!!!!!!!

Have a safe trip Ken, Branson is about 30 mile from my one son out that way. And hopefully when you get back the ole Red River will still be in her banks. I suspect there are a lot of sand bags being placed. In our local paper there was a story of a small church about 5 mile away that had 3 or 4 guys driving up to Fargo to help with the sand bag projects.

It's 5:20 And I'm almost loaded. Yes Jim there are already 3 million bags made up and they are starting this morning to bag the places they know will need help. There has been a lot of permanent dikes put in the past couple of years so hopefully they won't need to bag to much. Well it's goodbye for a while.

We made the trip without anything bad happening. It was 20* when we left Fargo and when we got there it was in the low 80s's. On the way home we ran into a blizzard and drove the last 120 miles in 4 wheel drive. At times we were at 20-25 MPH and couldn't see anythiny. I locked on to the back of a semi and followed it. We got to 40 at top speed on some parts when we could see better. We left Branson at 80* and this morning it was 0* here. What a change. We got a foot of snow from the storm so when I got home I had to fire up the blower and do the driveway.
