Carlisle 2011 who's coming?
« on: March 26, 2011 - 08:51:58 AM »
Now that spring is in the air, cruising season is almost upon us....
Are you coming this year?
I marked a check in " allow users to change vote" so you can change it if you need to.

I'm in unless something drastic happens. Planning on driving the Challenger too.

See Jeff's post if you need a room.

I was going to drive down in my Challenger, but now that Bo Duke is coming The Travel Agent (aka the GF) has decreed that working A/C is a must and that she'll be accompanying me again.  So now we're driving down in my Ram, but it'll be trailering the Challenger!

Soooo..., having never been to Carlisle, what are the details of preregistration. We're not bringing a show car. Do we preregister so as to park in the fairgrounds or  do we park outside the gate?
Don't know many of the details that you senior guys know.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

If your not bringing a car then you have to park outside the gates. Residential streets and pay parking lots. They fill up really early! Lots of walking.  Some places make you pay for parking. If I bring my car , it will be the first time for me. The registration details are on the Carlisle site.
If you bring a car your registration includes 2 weekend passes.

If your car is a Mopar, (or AMC) you can register it on the showfield in the myriad of classes.  My Ram isn't a show truck (heck, neither is my Challenger), but it'll be registered for the field as its a lot nicer to be parked ON the grounds than outside them)

Isn't that kinda frowned upon?  If it is common practice, I might go for that. But I would feel kinda funny parking the ole quad cab in a show line.

I've had our hotel reservations for a month now.  Haven't been to a Carlisle car show for about 30 years.  Bringing my wife and 4 year old.

You'll be fine as long as you park in your class area.  :2thumbs:  It's a better deal to park inside, one price for the weekend. If you park outside, you have to pay to park, Plus to get into the show evryday. It's a lot easier if your car/truck is inside. Coolers. chairs, etc. Heck, one year I had my daily driver there and ended up getting 3rd place.  :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley:
