The woodie has a regular dodge truck serial number and then there was another tag that said d48-0001. I was told by a woodie expert in California that this tag was the serial number. As far as I can tell dodge assembled the frame, running gear, and front sheet metal   Then had it shipped to pine bluff Arkansas for the wood work to be done

would i be a complete jackass if i hot rodded it out? It was originally red with ash and maple wood. Im thinking an old school blown 392 with some baby moons and some fat wheels out back. Or is this something so rare that it should be restored to stock

So, did the expert in California happen to say that this was the first one for the woodie production in the 48 year?

being the first one for the year, I would think someone would pay a price that would make it worth not rodding out.
However, it is yours.
My opinion is putting it back to original.  Maple is cool !!

Make it stock!  The heavier (door frames etc) would have been ash and the flat or panel areas figured maple.  Very interesting.  PK
