71 cuda "ugly duckling"
« on: March 27, 2011 - 08:09:32 PM »
I cannot believe I spoke to a mopar nut today at a jersey swap meet who owns a 70 cuda, and he called the 71 an "ugly duckling" and then confirmed his feelings with "red headed stepchild from chrysler". I felt like someone called my kid ugly!!!!  I just thought it was funny and wanted to share :violin:
By the way I walked in some coldass weather with a pocket full of cash looking at chevy parts, like 200 vendors and do not recall a mopar part other than a pair of 69 charger quarters and 2  14" rally`s . I am not going to another parts event until all-chysler carlisle.
I will finish a project.I will finish a project. I will finish a project.

I actually prefer the 71 to the 70. But I love my 72 more than both of them.....because it's mine lol.

I also know how you feel about the swap meet having no mopar parts. The biggest local car show has a swap meet every year and last year there was only one guy that had mopar parts (the same guy I bought my 'cuda from, and I had no use for the model 70 specific parts).

I also go to the biggest car show/swap meet in the state every year. And while they had a few more mopar parts....pickings were real slim.
Cuda is gone :(

 :iagree:  Me three!

I think the `71 is a little more in-your-face aggresive and some may think it is too much-almost gaudy.I like both but the `70 is just a cleaner, smoother look.

Not a slam to any year, but if I were building a Franken-Cuda I'd pick 70 tail lights & a 72-74 grille.  72 fender gills might make the cut, too.  :2cents:
