this is no April fools joke.
I dropped off my power steering gearbox back in November 2010 to harry's steering gear in Fraser Michigan with the intent to have it rebuilt in a week as the shop owner estimated.
I called just before thanksgiving and the guy told me that his father passed away- most likely the owner, but would have it in December. I drove out after trying to reach him (no luck) and he said he would promise it for the 18th of Dec. I called 3 other times since then to no response.
I tool today off to drive out there and get my steering gearbox back (after calling 2x) only to find a locked door.
When I got out to bang on the door Simone approached me asking if I could open it up so they could do the estimate on the building for the attorney!!!!

This guy and I start talking and he says that someone is coming by in the next 20 minutes to unlock the bldg.
30 minute later...
Someone arrives and let's the appraiser in. (legally he can't let me in)
I start talking to this man who will not give me his name. He looks at my receipt and gives me a name and a number of some guy to call.
"he might be able to help you out, but I don't know if he has any of these records"- he gestures to my receipt....

now, I hang in the balance...without a steering gearbox, and a complex legal situation if I choose to go that route.
I'm going to try this guy next week and see what's going on.
