What temp T-stat should I use?
« on: April 04, 2011 - 10:10:34 AM »
I need to put in a T-stat there was none in the motor just not sure what would be the best temperature stat to use. I was thinking maybe 180*. I have a stock 318 no A/Cwith a 4 blade fan bolted directly to the water pump. Thanks!

Yes, I would go with the 180* T-stat.

Many Tstats now come with a small bleed hole in the flat flange of the Tstat; purpose is to help remove air as cooling system is being filled.  Works real well.
Any Tstat I buy now, if it doesn't have a bleed hole, I drill a 1/16 hole or a little smaller, then deburr the hole edges. Take a little time filling the cooling system and there is usually very little air trapped in the system.  :2cents:
