Used to be a time when one could complain about the prices someone was charging for 1974 Dodge Challenger parts. This was around 1986...
Complain about the prices now, and the yard will crush everything in sight and then, no parts to be had. There's only so much repro stuff out there. You need that little stupid part that isn't being repro'd and there are no yards that even want to try and deal with the "Hobbist" croud, so they crush out. Then, you want to talk about DVAP being "proud" of THEIR parts cause they and a few others, will be the only ones around...kinda like "Year one" now..You either pay the cost to be the boss, or you make it work..I was talking with a guy that had OODLES of old sh*(t..Went to take a look and everything was gone and little patches of grass growing where the cars sat. i asked WTF? where did all the cars go?? His reply: "Well, I got tired of hearing how everybody needs a junkyard like mine till it comes time to pay for sh*t, so I crushed it all"...People are procrastinators (Spelling?) and take for granted that things will be there when we need 'em. I once asked a buddy with a 1966 Coronet that I have a Right front fender for and a hood if he wanted to buy 'em, he replied "Nope" don't need 'em right now"..My reply?: "Well, The Price doubles after you hit a deer"....I know we can't afford to buy up the entire inventory of used, "Spare" parts, but if you buy when you think you don't need it, trust me, you WILL...
