    That really sux. Made me think of a SPIKE channel show about dangerous North American animals. Apparently, bambi is the most dangerous animal in N.A. due to car collisions. Kills a lot of people each year. Glad you made it out ok.

     :iagree: I see a couple of dozen of these every year and the important part is, as mentioned, that it did no damage to YOU. That's a 3-4k whack depending. Try to remember that most deer hunters use a shotgun or rifle!  :thumbsup:

    Yes. The door opens fine. The fender wasn't pushed back...I still don't know if they'll be able to save it or not though.

    That's a tough break for sure Mike, and man, that's a stout bumper, appears to be just minor damage actually. Sounded like more $$$ damage under the hood.?  But at least you didn't get hurt buddy.

    Deer strikes are the main reason I stopped riding street bikes a few years ago. Lost a friend or two over the years to deer strikes on bikes. Looks like it won't be too hard to repair....    :cheers:

    Hey Mike,

    Wow, that really stinks. Glad it wasn't worse than it is. Lots of them around here, too. You remember all too well the rolling hills in the Burgh. You really never get a good look at them coming until it's too late.

    Well the only good news, if there is any, you will be getting genuine Mopar parts!

    I heard back from the shop today. About $5500 to fix it.    :22yikes:

    The panel between the hood and grill needs replaced, along with all the plastic that supports it. The fender needs replaced too. Now here is where it all adds up. Most of the stripes have to be removed so they can blend the paint on the new parts and hood. That means even the doors will get involved. Heck, why don't they just repaint the whole car?   ::)

     :working: Bummer mike,like the others said,for hitting a deer Your car has minor damage.i sell gm collision parts for a living and it looks like must of that estimate would have to be paint/labor related to get it up to $5500 unless these new challenger parts are way up there in price.could have been WAY WORSE if that deer would have flipped up over the hood.main thing your alright and the car can be fixed.  :thumbsup:

    Your car, your call Mike, but if you want a less invasive repair, tell them you'd rather they spent a little more time tinting and shooting some test cards, so that they don't go over into the lft fndr and rt door to blend. The paint appears to be solid, is it? If it's metallic, it's a little harder to hit, but a good painter should be able to do it. The fender also looked easily repairable and they may have spec'd a new one. I don't know the parts prices, but Chrysler got stupid that way when Daimler got into her pants and hasn't relented yet. Damn shame anyway you cut it!  :2cents:

    Mike,

    Sorry to see your Challenger hurt,
    Look at it this way it could have been alot worse than that.
    I seen some pretty bad hits from deer over the years..

    Your OK,  that's all that matters, car's can be fixed pretty easy....

    That's a bummer to hear! I'd be so pissed in your shoes right now!

    I hit a deer once in a Honda I had years ago.

    I had 3 choices in a few millisonds to decide.

    1. Hit the cliff and maybe roll over avoiding it
    2. Crank the wheel hard and go off the cliff
    3, Go straight right into Bambi.

    Door #2 was the choice. Totalled the front end and the little  :swear: got up and ran away!
