World of Wheels Boston 2011 pics
« on: April 08, 2011 - 10:27:58 AM »
Went to the World of Wheels this past weekend.  Had a great time.  A couple of highlights are when I got to sit in a Mad Max Interceptor replica, still in the works as it needs the nose, supercharger and Zoomies, and also I got to go back and video the cars leaving the Seaport World Trade Center.

Unfortunately I still have yet to download the videos.  I have like 20 hours of family movies to download!  :faint:

Sorry, some pics are blurry as I had to turn off the flash or else it made the room look like a cave.  :bricks1:

Here's the link:  http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l247/PEAJJ/World%20of%20Wheels%20Boston%20April%203-%202011/

Here's a sampling of pics...

This bad boy did a burnout less than 10 feet from me out on Seaport Boulevard!

This 'Cuda has a modern Hemi uner the shaker.

Last of the V-8 Interceptors!  Yes, those are Mopar Rally rims!  Why?  Because he likes them!

This 1968 Hemi Charger R/T won Best Restoration that night.  He sold his 1970 Hemi 'Cuda to get this baby!  Also has a black 1968 Shelby Mustang GT-500 428!

Yes, Dave, very cool!  This is one of my all time favorite cars!  I guess there are only like 9 of these cars in the US.  This gentleman is about an hour drive from me, nice to know he's sort of close.

He says that everyone tells him the car look really mean.  He says he doesn't know as he's only been in the car and not seen it from afar, everyone is afraid to drive his car.  I told him I would drive it and he can check it out driving my Honda.  :naughty:

It's the Bronze!

Now I'm sorry I didn't go this year.  I would have loved to see the Mad Max car, even if it is a ferd. If you run in to the owner again, ask him if he got one of those Aussie sirens.  I've always wanted one of those.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

Hmmmm...no siren in the car that I saw, don't know what he has stashed though.  It's a works in progress.  Still needs the nose, Zoomies and supercharger.  The fit inside was tight.  I was just wearing a t-shirt and it was snug, but a good snug.  Our Challengers seem much more roomy.

If you want one of those sirens....

He says that everyone tells him the car look really mean.

Back when I had my Javelin nobody could figure out what it was. About 40% thought it was a Shelby, another 20% said Jensen Interceptor, and the final 40%, because it was black, said "Mad Max" car.

Always liked Javelins.  They had a mean rake built into the body, even without being jacked up.  They looked ready to pounce...
