Engine Ticking

Most people know about how the engine "ticks" after it's turned off after being driven. Well, I noticed that the engine in my '66 Plymouth Fury (383-4 bbl) makes a ticking sound once it's warmed up and still running. A distinct ticking sound which I've traced to the area at or near the manifold heat control valve.

Has anyone here noticed that with their car(s)? The tick, when the engine is running, happens about once every 10 seconds and can be heard inside the car when it's idling.

Exhaust leak.  I use  a length of 3/8" brake line as a stethescope to locate exactly where it is coming from.

The older valve trains are notorious for getting loose:  By loose, I mean check the nuts that hold down the rockers and rocker arm assemblies

Just remove the valve covers and check the tourque on those nuts

Exh leak like mentioned could def be the culprit

Yeah, it does seem like an exhaust leak.
I don't think it's the valve train because it doesn't increase in frequency when the engine is at higher rpms.

It does. I check the oil often because it does burn it (original, non-rebuilt engine).
Last I checked, it was at or slightly below the "full" line.
