Get em all! There must be over 60 of them on a trampoline then go into business selling knockoff AAR springs. You`ll make a killing! :money: and if I find my trampoline mat laying on the ground in the morning I`ll know you`re my neighbor!  :lol2:

On my hood  it is a repop, where the hood hinges bolt to the hood you can see a couple pop-rivits along the edge for the metal reinforcement. If I could see inside the hood I would bet it`s only a thin strip of metal being used to reinforce the hood. My drivers side has a slight bulge probably from me when I had those stiff Penstar springs on it :swear:.So even the repops wont take a lot of abuse.

On a side note the 5.5" trampoline springs I measured was from the coiled part of the springs not the overall length. Overall length on these springs are about 7.5".

Dont cut your AAR hood short to quickly the original AAR hoods have three pop rivets on each side in the hood hindge area

I have a full extra set of trampoline springs if you need them. They are off our old trampoline, wind blew in and picked it up like a parachute one day. Need some just let me know.

I have a T/A hood and it bow's on one side too. I tried 2 different sets of springs, finally just removed the springs, and use a rod with 2 bends in it that go through the holes in the hinge to hold the hood open.

If you want to try the trampoline springs Brad, I can bring a couple to the nats with me Brad.

Thanks Chris but the springs I have now " just" hold up the hood. It doesn't take much of a breeze to blow the hood down so I think lighter springs wouldn't help me much.
Thanks anyhow!  :2thumbs:

No problem, I saw a guy at a show using the same idea you are. Seemed to work pretty good, probably just as easy also.

Ya those rods seem to be the best solution for me. With the springs in and the hood up, even when working under the hood I still need to put the rods in!..... Ask me how I know!  :icon16:    Sure am glad the T/A hood doesn't use the hood latch!  :grinyes:

Don't need to ask how you know, pretty sure I have been there myself.  :smilielol: Mine wasn't a glass hood though, it was a big old 77 Charger hood :banghead:

You have missed out on so much Brad.

Even as much as I hit my head on that thing, I always seem to forget it's there waiting to nail me.    :banghead:
