I have a 73 cuda with a 68 440, recently installed a performer rpm under my holley dp 750 and have no hood clearance. I have a rallye hood and a drop base and 3" filter already. any ideas?

maybe swap to a 2" filter? will the hood close with no filter?

Ok, here's my weird options on this situation....

Like already mentioned, a shorter air filter is the cheapest solution.  That way you get to keep the rallye hood.

If you absolutely need to keep the 3" filter....

Aftermarket fiberglass Cuda hood with a Six Pack scoop or get a flat hood and cut it for a shaker but have the shaker bubble attached to the hood.  This way you PERHAPS may get the clearance you need plus get some fresh air with a semi stock look.  It depends what look you want.

You can also go for a Ram Air box that has the hoses that lead to the front of the car that allows cold air to be drawn in...

I  find a nice aftermarket fiberglass hood and forget about it and besides your Cuda would look good with a six pac scoope

thanks guys for the replies. I will use clay this weekend to see if I have 2".  The top carb flange is level with the top of the fenders  should have measured before the intake purchase . I would like to get a spectre dual snorkel kit for cold air.

I don't have personal experience with UP22, but have heard a few disparaging remarks about their quality over the last couple years.

In my experience, if this won't clear your stock hood with the rpm intake, nothing will.  Plus, it would be a whole lot cheaper than swapping intakes again or a new hood.

If you use a shorter filter and it now clears try a K&N air cleaner lid so you won't lose so much air flow.

I've always wondered about driving behind a scoop like that.  I remember a chopped 32 coupe at a show that had a 671 blower sticking through the hood and you literally couldn't see straight ahead from the drivers seat.  I don't know how the owner drove that safely on the street.  The Sox Cuda wouldn't be that bad, but forward visibility would still seem to be affected.  Just curious.

the other option is to run the Holley 330-14 SD intake , it is much lower , there is a strong market for the RPM so you can resell that

I managed to modify the drop base I have and a short k&n so the hood closes now.  In the future I now know to ask here before buying parts!
