72 Cuda, The only time I seem to have trouble is when I talk to the sales or cust serv dept, if you have to end up calling for any reason go directly to tech, they have come through for me. I hope you get everything on the first attempt. Keep us posted.

Please keep us all informed as I am ready to start my conversion in Feb - I have a chance to put old school A833 4speed for about $2000 - including all parts, 23 spline tranny and pistol grip shifter - a little less than Tony's.  With a new 440 crate coming in Feb also I am tempted to go with Keisler so I will have all new stuff with less headaches worrying if something goes wrong

Hopefully all work done for the 2006 Powertour - anybody going Longhaulin

well they said it would be about 2-3weeks to ship. i guess thats not to bad. but i had my first problem already. on the sales order they listed one of thier new bellhousings for big blocks i contacted them and they said it was a mistake and they have a hard time coming across smallbock bells and told me it was going to cost me an extra $51 for a lakewood bellhousing. i have nothing against going with the lakewood but i would have thought they might have mentioned something about having a hard time finding them while i was on the phone placing my order. so i guess now ill just have to sit back and wait for it to hopefully show up before the end of the year.does anybody know if they send a driveshaft right away or if you have to call in your measurements first.

Back in 02 when I got mine, you had to supply them with your small block bellhousing to modify. I found one at carlisle on a sunday (last day) and bought it for it think $35. I let them modify that one and kept my original. When your kit shows up let me know if it has metal to modify the floorpan as my driveline angle is wrong and they are telling me the new e-body kits are supposed to come with metal to replace part of the floorpan. They have recently sent me some "spacers" which come with the new kits to correct my driveline angle problem. Only problem is if I try and lift the tranny a half inch it will hit the floor.  :pullinghair: I am not looking forward to having to pull the tranny out again.

Update----Was able to install a 1/4" spacer below the rear tranny mount with a little filing to lift the tail of the tranny up. Also had to install 4* shims at the rear axle to adjust the pinion angle which has corrected the driveline problems.  :woohoo:  Now with a little luck, I hope I can get this car running in the next few weeks.

Was planning on being able to give an update on the tranny by now. Planned to start the engine for the first time this weekend, but now we have about 10" of snow. :eek4:  :swear: I guess it will be another few weeks now.

Hey folks,

I just finished this job on my cuda about a month ago. I did not run into any MAJOR issues. I went from auto to 5-speed and while it was not "bolt in" it was probably as close to it as you are gonna get.

I had to contact Keilser a few times but never had to send anything or buy anything. Mine had the modified tail shaft so no problems there.

Cutting the floor was no big deal. someone mentioned new floors will take that back to stock in no time. When folks restore cars they put new floors in anyhow. The car is much more fun to drive and i would do it again if i had the choice.
